"Iv been coming to the gate for many years but then it closed for several months but obviously re opened and been here a good few times. Each time myself and company have dined it has been without fault. The garden and surrounds are a lovely place to bring children especially on bbq afternoons. The staff manager and all customers seem friendly and approchable and are happy to assist. The lavatories have been always clean as with the pub and the gardens very well maintained. There is a nice selection of ales bitters and beers to choice from. I would find it very hard to believe that anybody should have any complaints about their visit to The Gate, in fact i have recommended it to many of my friends. Working in hospitality myself at a private boys school i understand the pressure on chefs hospitality assistants and staff to get things just right and you have just that. I look foward to returning and bring along some friends. Well done to all your staff its important to have a happy go lucky team you certainly come up trumps there. I hope you enjoy reading this feedback."

enjoyed the food goo value but the service was slow if not snails pace having to ask for drinks to go with the meal is crazy

Good food for Sunday Lunch. Generous portion, well cooked and presented. My only complaint would be served on cold plates. Waitresses very efficient and helpful

While minor hiccup in table being available for booking, everything worked out fine. Great service and food and reasonably priced. Very helpful in every way. Would return again

It was so disgusting that we didn’t even eat. Filthy. Bad atmosphere. Seemed like a bunch of mates of the owner just hanging around with their dogs. Drinks were horrible. Don’t think beer lines had been cleaned ever. Surprised it is even open and passed any health hygiene tests. Stay well away.

Had an Irish family over, they loved the food and devoured everything!.. they especially liked the sticky toffee pudding... the best ever! Service was great and we asked for extra bits and pieces and nothing was too much. Really nice afternoon and it was quite late before we knew it!.. will be back soon. Thanks
