"this restaurant is excellent at all level quality of food, creativity of dishes, presentation and friendliness and professionalism of the employees all lead to a really great culinary experience. they always try to meet individual needs. they can enjoy as a casual lunch after a dog walk or a Saturday evening with friends or a date. in any case one of our favorites. highly recommended."

"Can’t fault how friendly both staff and repeat clientele were. Sadly we were propped on a couple of tables in the bar despite booking early for Mother’s Day. What the pub lacks in style it makes up for in quality of food. Note not all options online available but what was was incredible. Ups friendly helpful staff despite a very busy day. Personally recommend Tom Dick and Harry Dessert Downs Not attractive place to eat There’s a smell to the pub that’s off putting Customers were openly vaping at bar despite people dining yards away. Queue for carvery not explained so the rest of my table had finished eating by the time I rejoined them Family dining would have been preferable as wait for carvery was long and hard for some age groups who walked with a stick. Also you have to walk through part of kitchen clean up area to get to carvery which is not clearly signposted. People encouraged to queue right next to people eating which isn’t pleasant either. Worth a relook. Not somewhere we’ll re visit, a shame as good value and great quality but it’s not all about the food."

"Faultless! Best Sunday roast to date. And we’ve been for A LOT! The meet and greet was spot on (we didn’t book but they accommodated us), the attention to detail was second to none, it’s clear that this is a well-run business, the toilets (according to my wife) are as they would be at home, quote “home from home and I actually sat on the seat” (lol). We both had the lamb and it was actually amazing. Perfect portion size, veg cooked just lovely and a massive credit to Theo who was ever so attentive. We are far from local but we are already planning our return."

"While staying in an Airbnb, I took a walk and then drove to The Dovecote Inn. From the outside, the inn looked cozy and like a hidden gem - which it proved to be! The warm welcome, variety of drink options, and stylish interior all added to the dining experience. I visited for lunch and will definitely return when in the area, or recommend it to others who would enjoy it. The ample parking at the back and potential for outdoor seating in the summer make it a great spot. I imagine evenings on the weekends would be lovely as well. Overall, a solid A rating from me."

"I have been living near this pub for 25 years and have passed by it countless times. I finally decided to stop in with some friends after a long walk and was pleasantly surprised. The interior of the pub is charming and they have a great selection of beers on tap and delicious bar snacks like hot pork scratchings. The food was just okay, with a lack of butter in the sausage sandwich, but that shouldn't deter you from visiting. The atmosphere is great and the service is top-notch. Overall, it's a fantastic place to grab a drink. The average price per person is between £20-30. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"
