"We went to see Whiskey River play, they did a great set out in the garden. A nice pub, service was a bit slow and chaotic but the staff were very friendly. It's got a nice garden with plenty of seating, the access to it is via steep steps which might be a problem for aged folk, also not sure about wheelchair access. Plenty of parking so no problems there. There is an extensive menu but we just had (very generous) pork baps outside. Overall pretty good!"

Booked for a meal here with the family after driving past. Really welcoming and lovely homemade food. Came back the next day for another meal really enjoyed it again. If we're ever in the area again would not hesitate to visit again.

I have visited the Monkland Arms on several occasions since Ali and Jed took over and have always been impressed by the warm welcome and friendly staff. There is a very good selection of ales and ciders and the menu is extensive and very good value for money. Well worth a visit! (Very good Covid arrangements too)

with new retention of title, the owners have made a good start to reach their goal of the local pub theme. they receive their supplies from local dealers and have a very good selection of weeping, spirituous, ales, perry and apple wines. a pleasant atmosphere shows up together with the pleasant, welcoming air of jed and allie. we wish them in this latest venture well and many happy years go to the future.
