"Arrived today ,met by a young girl on reception behind the bar ,not allowed to check in till 1600hrs which to me is very late,so we had to hang around waiting ,conversation went like this ,hi can i take a payment from you,to which we did . What time is breakfast as were both booked in ,however we will be leaving early tomorrow morning,our train leaves at 0758am ,which is to me not that early is it . The young girl then said it looks like you 've missed breakfast as we dont start till 8am . The options never came ,i were waiting for her to say something like however you can have something to take with you . Then she said your welcome to have food later between 5-8pm here in the restuarant In other words ,can you pay us extra ,get to the twin room and theres barely any milk for teas and coffees ,rubbish really ,and all about the money,in fact theyre probably trained to get extra money out of people to boost the coffers ,its pretty faceless here"

"Haven't had chance to try food due to shocking customer service.. 1st time we visited we were told in no uncertain terms they were not serving food, asked for a black coffee. Not serving coffee.. large coffee machine at the end of the bar and would honestly have been happy with an instant coffee.. today popped in they'd just opened but want £10 a ticket as they had a jazz quartet on.. at the end of the day we wanted to eat, did not know the band so headed over the road to the Royal Oak.."

"My husband and I always look for somewhere to eat that serves good food and this little café did just that. It was lunchtime, however, my husband had the Scottish breakfast, which completely filled him up for the rest of the day. Freshly cooked, well presented with a jovial side of sarcastic wit from the delightful chap serving behind the counter. Egg, bacon, sausage, tons of mushrooms, beans, haggis, black pudding, toast, and above all, filter coffee, which you can’t really find these days – it usually comes out of a machine. That got an extra star from my husband. I had a tuna fish sandwich, and was happily indulged with red onion on top. This came with a healthy side of coleslaw, a little salad, and a big handful of Doritos style chips. I would have preferred ordinary crisps, but this is just a personal choice. I certainly wouldn’t criticise anybody for this. I had a cappuccino which was served really hot and tasted delicious. We left via the beer garden at the back, having discovered it when I used the bathroom. We will definitely go back for an evening meal and sit outside when the weather allows. As we were heading towards the car park, a couple asked us for directions and we pointed them towards the beach via this café. I hope they took us up on our suggestion."

"I love this pub. Having visited and lived on and off in Fishguard for few years now this is definitely one of the main reasons I enjoy the town. Brian and Jean, the landlady and lord, are just ace, they look after their locals and pre covid did great food. There's always a brilliant atmosphere both inside and out in the beer garden with customers of all ages and the juke box plays superb music. Their recent stand against the local MP's who voted against free school meals for children has made me even more keen to support them. They are caring, sound people with strong principles who watch out for their community. A proper local."

"We absolutely loved our meal here the food was truly excellent! It was a quieter night with no live music when we went but I can imagine the atmosphere would have been amazing on one of their live music evenings! We started with sourdough bread, balsamic dip and olives and they were all really tasty. The bread tasted really, really fresh. For mains we had chicken saffron and beef baked in a yoghurt, ginger and pepper sauce. Both dishes were absolutely delicious the meat was so tender and the sauces were packed full of flavor. The highlight however was the desserts chocolate fondant torte and a raspberry and hazelnut meringue gateaux. The combination of fresh raspberries and Chantilly cream alongside the hazelnut meringue was such a great way to finish off the meal...I think I'd walk back to Pembrokeshire for another bite!!! The staff were friendly and efficient and made the final night of our Welsh holiday a really lovely one! We'd definitely be back for more if we were in the area again."
