"This place was recommended to our son who lives in Washington, Tyne Wear and knows some local Thai residents who had assured him that the food is authentic Thai cuisine. He now eats here whenever he visits the city centre, and enjoys the food so much that when we visited from the South Coast he wanted to treat us to a meal here. Following a morning wandering around Newcastle we arrived here for a Saturday lunch just after they had opened, so it was quiet although it filled up more after our arrival. The welcome and service by the lovely waitress were excellent. My wife was a little intrepid as she cannot eat spicy food, so was restricted in her choice of dish. Nevertheless, she was totally blown away by the sweet and sour chicken, and my son and I both found our crispy pork dishes to be outstanding. We also felt that the meal represented excellent value for money, especially in relation to the price of meals in restaurants in the south! The ambience is ok but nothing special, but frankly what you come here for is the food! Our son has really gone and done it now as we shall expect further visits here whenever we visit him!"

We went here before seeing Peter Kay at the Arena. Food very good and service was very friendly. Authentic Thai food. Reasonably priced.

Lovely restaurant. Close your eyes and imagine you're in Sukhumvit Soi 38. Lovely staff, great food cooked fresh to order, all in all a lovely start to a night out in Newcastle. Best Thai food we've found anywhere in the north east.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options to choose from. The portion sizes are generous, perfect for those who enjoy a satisfying meal. We were promptly served and had a wonderful time in a spacious, well-lit setting. View menu

the food was okay; some dishes were pretty tasty but mostly nothing to write home about. service was friendly but very slow, and we only found out it’s “cash or bank transfer only” when we got our bill. overall an alright evening, rather unmemorable. it’ll do fine for one of those evenings when you just want some decent food without breaking the bank.

What a find! We were very impressed by Siam Zaa. Lovely friendly welcome and a great menu with lots of choice at very good prices. My chicken Jungle curry was marvellously fresh tasting and spicy and my son’s beef Massaman curry was rich and deep in flavour, but all the dishes ordered were delicious, beautifully prepared and presented. Can’t wait to return. Recommended to all!

Received a very warm welcome when we arrived, waitress was lovely. Very accommodating and not pushy in the slightest. Ordered Pad Thai and Red Curry to play it safe as first time going and it's our banker of a meal. Absolute divine.... highly highly recommend . As it got busier more waitresses come on the floor to work, wide range of people and a great experience. We will be coming back with family for a evening meal. View menu

I stayed in Newcastle for work and the hotel staff recommended this restaurant. If you're looking for fancy Thai food and perfectly presented waitresses, this may not be the place for you. However, if you're seeking authentic cuisine, a warm welcome, and a friendly atmosphere, then this is definitely the spot. It reminded me of family restaurants in Asia - a bit chaotic, very welcoming, and serving delicious 'homecooked' style food rather than generic dishes. The prices are very reasonable compared to restaurants further south in the UK, with generous portions. I also appreciated that as a solo female diner, I didn't feel out of place. Thank you!

This used to be the best Thai restaurant in Newcastle. In fact, I have previously stated in my reviews that it was the best I had eaten in the UK. However, a change in ownership or chef has resulted in a decline in quality. Whether it is due to laziness or a lack of skill from the new chef, the flavors have suffered. The dishes are not terrible and they are not overly expensive, but they are just not as good as they used to be. The fried egg on the chicken and rice dish should have a soft yolk, which is what makes the dish special. The chicken needs to be cut better and the flavors should be more vibrant. The noodles were too heavy with not enough chicken, and they even included a whole boil...

"The place seems unprofessionally run. The staff all look like they could do with a bath. No overalls are worn and their clothes are all of the type that many would wear to lounge around the house in . Several have longer hair and beards but don’t wear any kitchen p.p.e. The decor is shabby and I wondered what kind of hygiene rating they would have. Although not busy, the staff seemed to be disorganised, falling over eachother and lacking in training. They seemed to handle the food in an inexperienced, clumsy fashion. The only tool I saw being used was a pizza peel for taking the pizza in and out of the oven. On all other occasions the food was handled. I didn’t notice any hand washing or alcohol gel in evidence. The menu is quite limited and uninspiring. 2 of the 6 pizza choices include chicken which Italians would argue is definite no no! All pizzas are reheated to order which eliminates the possibility of customisation. I don’t believe the restaurant would stand out in many European countries, as pizza in general is of a much higher standard than that in the UK. In spite of the above, The basic pizza is excellent in taste (even though it is all re-heated). And for this reason it is worth a visit. Compared to other uk pizza restaurants which are typically serving absolute garbage, the food is way out in front. If you can tolerate the negatives I’m sure you won’t be disappointed with the pizza. However with a bit of effort, this place could be transformed into something truly amazing."
