Sticklebarn Tavern - Menu

Walked from home about 4 miles for lunch and drinks in the sunny beer garden. We had a burger and chicken burger, both were delicious. I have to say Nicola was very attentive, pulled a decent pint and made our 3 dogs very welcome.

Very average I can’t recommend. We popped in for lunch after a walk and very limited choice. In the end we had vege chilli and chips and the chilli was lukewarm …. and the chips undercooked. Bare minimum for £11! The service was friendly.

Popped out for lunch and decided to take the scenic route. Music was lovely Buena Vista Social Club. Food was great had the hot dog but a chilli hot dog option would be a request for a future visit. Chilli loaded fries great. Highly recommended. View menu

We were hoping that this restaurant would be open today, and luckily it was. Previously owned by the National Trust, it is now under private ownership. We enjoyed a delicious light lunch with flatbread and hummus, along with two bottles of local beer. Unfortunately, there was no draft beer available. The staff was friendly, and the food and drinks were excellent.

This was our first time dining at Stickle Barn since Lanty Slee's took over, and we were impressed. While the vegetarian options initially seemed limited, we were pleasantly surprised by the good choices available. The food was freshly prepared, tasty, and very filling - exactly what we were looking for. Upon arrival, we were treated to live music outdoors, adding to the overall enjoyable experience.

After previously criticizing Stickle Barn for its expensive drinks last year, we decided to give it another chance. We had just enjoyed great cask beers at Old Dungeon Ghyll and found our visit to Stickle Barn much more affordable this time. However, they did not have any cask beer available, only foreign lager and Guinness, which was disappointing for a place that claims to celebrate Cumbrian produce. Despite this, we recommend visiting Old Dungeon Ghyll instead as it offers more than adequate compensation for any shortcomings at Stickle Barn. View menu

Stickle Barn has become my favourite place to visit when we are in the Lakes. It has everything. The attention to detail inside makes the atmosphere magical. The food is SO GOOD (try the salt and pepper fries!! , the cocktails make me want to stay longer (the breakfast martini is a MUST! ... when it is rainy, there is a fire and a friendly welcome, when it is sunny, sitting outside and taking in the views is spectacular. The Hayloft upstairs has been restored, cared for and opened up for events and weddings it is a phenomenal venue for the area. And the staff are amazing!

This place was always lovely, but could you believe that it could get better? Well, it has. The National Trust run pub was good, but you could tell it was run by amateurs. The food was good, but basic. The beers were excellent. Now, they've taken everything wonderful about the place and delivered bags of unique character, amazing food and top tier service and experience. It is simply one of the best pubs you can visit today. The staff are all proper old hands who know what they're doing. The chef is clearly incredibly talented and yet still makes pretty humble food. Attended a wedding in Stickle Barn on Saturday and is was absolutely perfect. The pub and the the outside area made a lovely meeting place the night before with great food and live music and on the day the wedding was magical. The barn is an absolutely perfect venue with its own bar and toilet facilitities a great space for dancing and the decorations were beautifully rustic and created a very special atmosphere with big round tables and lights and candelabras.
