My wife and I took some friends to this restaurant as a special birthday celebration. We were not disappointed. From the welcome booking in to the final goodbye it was excellent. Ambiance, quality of food, service all to the highest standard

Welcoming from the start , professional, friendly and astute service x came for Sunday lunch , portions exact and quality in a lovely setting. High standards at a very reasonable price , will most certainly be back. The holiday cottages looked so tranquil and inviting

Overall a great experience, we were a large group and the staff did a thoroughly fantastic job. Overall the food was excellent… apart from the rib eye which was tasty but not good quality and looked like it had been hacked off the joint with...a claw hammer. Large group, very well catered for. Food was lovely on the whole. Rib eye steak a little disappointing (not the best cut) but I’m a fussy customer when it comes to steak. Overall a great experience. I have heard the Sunday lunch is out of...this world, will be going back for this very soon. The venue is absolutely stunning!

A thank you lunch for a colleague sadly couldn't have a long lingering lunch as heading back to work, but the quality of the food was outstanding and the service understated and unobtrusive perfect! Would have loved to have sampled the wine list...but will do next time. Excellent value for high quality food and lovely presentation. Really impressive and so nice to have a menu which has is not so vast that you don't know where to start. Can't wait to go back.

Location: Restaurant is located is a lovely area. An old barn was converted into the restaurant today years back. Restaurant has a lot of character and very pleasant. Service: Excellent service from the staff and minimal delays during delivery of drinks and various food...courses. Food: We chose the set menu. The starters were excellent, very tasty and well presented. As a treat we also sampled some bean soup which was very, very good. Main meals of steak (Sirloin, Ribeye) were grilled as requested, however the quality of the steak was a little disappointing. Puddings (Apple pie Ice cream) were delicious. We came for dinner a few weeks ago . The food was excellent . I went to Stonemill when I first located months ago . My experience was amazing ! The manager wasn’t in that eve . On my return the manger was working...and tbh was very abrupt . I asked about the house wine and she described it as ‘ dry and thin’ Pinot noir so I opted for the Shiraz instead as she made it sound terrible . I’m in the hospitality industry and would never describe a wine on my menu as dry and thin . Also no rapport and unfriendly manner . The food was excellent and the waiting staff too . I’d just like to say that the stonemill had its great reputation for the food and that’s the chef . Customer service is everythin...

On the whole the meal was delicious (other than one split dessert which was sent back) but front of house let the side down with a catalogue of errors. They were all very young and looked to be needing direction from someone with more experience...to point them in the right direction. Firstly, when you order champagne, you do not have it served in a red wine glass! Next came the waitress trying to remove dishes while we were still eating.We then had courses where they brought the next course before clearing the table and we were asked to clear the old dishes ourselves to enable the waitress to serve the new dishes. We were staying in the local area and the restaurant had been recommended by previous guests at our cottage. As we were celebrating a birthday we made a reservation for Saturday evening via the website. This was quickly confirmed by return email, but I had...to follow up with a phone call to provide my credit card to confirm the booking. The restaurant is a converted mill with some retained original features. We were pleased to see they were pretty busy.
