"Country pub with classic feel making for a very good atmosphere. Different bar/seating areas allow for a homely feel at least one of the cosy bar areas has an open fire. The menu is a bit limited but the variety is decent I think most people will find something to eat. Time to food from ordering was about an hour which is a little long I think. The food quality was amazing I had the buttermilk chicken to start with ranch sauce, it was very good. My main was the chicken burger with fries and slaw. The fries were over cooked and hard to get my fork into without them scooting across the plate. However the burger and slaw was amazing!! Absolutely loved the burger. My mother in law had the 8oz sirloin steak which she asked for medium/well it was cooked to perfection and the side salad was ace. Dessert was the spiced apple crumble, again absolutely lovely. My wife had the sticky toffee pudding which tasted great and was very light, perfect the wife said; slight issue it was cold in the middle. However the pub apologised profusely and took it off the bill so they handled the situation perfectly. Overall we were very happy with the whole experience, another great touch was some lovely background music at just the right volume; another great touch that added to a near perfect atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, we think they were perhaps 1 staff member light in front of house, but nearly every eatery is struggling for staff presently so we would suspect they are doing the best with what they can hire…..the staff they have are great. Overall totally recommend a visit."

Lovely pub. The new owners are very friendly and welcoming. The pub dogs are really cute. I've been here for times now for bike nights now which has been good. Looking forward to trying the cocktails here one night.

new owners are beautiful. super friendly, nothing is too much annoyed. my partner has an allergy and if we book a table and remind them when booking that they absorb its allergy, they cannot fail. eating is also delicious.

Great little pub, fully refurbished with the camp site, which is right on the river and convenient for local interests, the chalk horse, stonehenge etc. Lovely clean services, live music at the weekends, nice cafe opposite the Barge down the road.

Camped on site in my motorhome. Nice hot showers. Facilities to refill water tank and empty cassette toilet. Nice pub garden abd fog friendly. Lovely area but have to cross quite a busy junction to get to the bridle path to walk away from traffic. Lovely local fishing on the Avon. Reasonably priced camping and nice food available if your not cooking. Service: 4

We have been here a few times. Really nice staff. My ASD daughter loves to just walk round and follow the dogs they have there. She is in her happy place with them. And she is really happy with the kids steak dinner. We must make a trip there in the evenings for the music. Nearby activities: Fishing available there. With campsite tent/caravan Safety: Secure garden for kids and dogs Food drinks: Proper food for the price. Not expensive. Noteworthy details: Regular music and quiz nights. Small park to play in. and plenty of space inside and out for seating.

We stopped here today (Sunday 8th,May) and despite having not booked and them being really busy with pre arranged bookings they not only happily took our Sunday roast order it was was delivered to us earlier than estimated and OMG it was outstanding. We all had different meats, Gammon chicken and beef, the roast potatoes and gravy was to die for. Fabulous selection of fresh cooked vegetables. From the moment we stepped in the front door to the moment we left everyone was friendly helpful so glad to have meet you all and will definitely be back soon. Thank you

Thanks to this site our weekend wasn't ruined, original campsite The Barge Inn, had a visit from the council, who more or less shut them down. We was turned away, thankfully we found this place, recently taken over, The Wooden Bridge campsite was spot on, nice hot showers, clean toilets and a covered washing up area. The river Avon flows through the bottom of the site, peaceful and idyllic. Pub serves hot and cold food, large beer garden/play area out the back. Dog friendly, bus stop 50 meters from pub, just shy of a hour to get to Salisbury, I suggest try and get front seats on the top deck, excellent views and pretty villages, well worth the trip.
