"First time I’ve been to a Toby Carvery in quite a while and got to say very disappointing. Thought the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the flavours of the roast meats but was very disappointed in the portion size, basically one single slice of meat. Chef even commented that was all they had. I shouldn’t have to get a reduced portion so you can fill more plates. Can’t say the atmosphere is particularly good either, The tables are far too close together with very little separation. Covid times or not it felt like you were having a meal with the neighbouring tables and they were part of your group. Won’t be going back to a Tony Carvery anytime soon."

Food good, some of the veg was a bit on the cold side. Had a 5 minute wait at the servery for the chef to appear, they were very busy.

The usual carvery you'd expect. Most of the veg was freshly out. A good, substantial meal for 5 of us. We stayed 3½ hours, but at no point were we hurried out. Grant, the manager, was an excellent host View menu

We had breakfast at our local Toby in Doncaster before we left for York and the dinner at Toby in York this afternoon. Both were excellent except the breakfast one didn't have any gravy for the Yorkshire puddings. Shame as we really enjoy them. Lost marks for this.

Food a bit dry and veg very scarce the majority were at the end of the serving dishes. What on earth is Mac cheese doing with a roast dinner!! It looked so dry and disgusting like it had been there all day, think they need to rethink their menu and improve their veggies selection

We like going to Toby Carvery at Hopgrove.The food choices are always plenty and varied and cooked in proper Sunday roast fashion.The carvery is a decent sized venue and staff always pleasant and efficient.us you can't go wrong for the amount of food you can help yourself to at a very inexpensive price. Booked a table for 8 pm on line. They did not have the usual Rose wine my partner likes and we were told to hurry up for the Carvery as they were closing it at 8pm !! The turkey was almost all gone, showing areas of uncooked meat red in colour and the vegetables were very dry and unappetising. We usually really enjoy our meals here but last night was a bit of a disaster.

Lovely friendly waitress, even ut a candle in my mums dessert for her birthday. Tables sat a bit close together but no problem . The meats were tender tasty and delicious as were the sliced potato bake,gorgeous, didn't like the roasties, tasted like earth, maybe they were cooked in their skins not sure, maybe just not our taste ,overall a nice carvery and we would come again.
