"When we arrived the lady was not very welcoming at all. As we had made a booking I advised of this and she just stared vacantly. I then checked to make sure I was at the right venue as she seemed perplexed. Eventually she showed to a table. Gave no information on the menu. We waited for nearly 20 minutes to order a drink. I also ordered tap water which she never brought. The situation was slightly redeemed by a much more friendly waiter who brought the water and was more customer focussed. The restaurant was very quiet so there was no excuse for her attitude. Even when paying the bill she was most unfriendly and dismissive. Not visiting here again. Definitely not to be recommended"

Friendly and welcoming staff. There was a lack of vegetarian option, even the Sunday dinner option which was only option was beef and chicken. Need another vegetarian starter option as well.

came here with my friend for a special occasion as it was silvester. Traveled 4 and half an hour and booked this restaurant based on reviews. what a mistake! at 8 o'clock we had no food until 10.30 o'clock very disappointed by service and eating.

Really grumpy lady with blonde hair seated us which meant we didn’t get the warmest of welcomes. I think she could do with a customer service refresher course. Food was great, wine was good and the guy who took payment was really friendly so it wasn’t all bad.

We visited for my friends birthday meal. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff who provided a great service. The place was extremely clean, the food was absolutely delicious and there was a really good cocktail menu. Will be sure to visit again.

Service was amazing, got seated quickly, and served straight away. Food came out quickly and didn’t have to wait long for food. The restaurant looked amazing, quality of food was delicious apart from the chicken it tasted burnt on the top but I think that’s how it was cooked but apart from that food was delicious.

BUT WHAT A BURGER Fantastic and onion rings to die for! what really made this place special were the staff, the guys doing the absolute best cocktails!!!! were so good. and all the staff in the restaurant brilliant will be back !!! thank you

Excellent, staff excellent, the 3 course Sunday roast was really good, would have liked beef to have been in 2 or 3 slices rather than one big steak filling half the plate, but was cooked perfectly, we like our veg a little bit softer, but this was super fresh veg and cooked as such by someone who really cares, we won’t boil our veg to mush anymore. Roast potatoes nice and crispy and soft in the middle, the carrots taste of Carrots, not mushy watered down carrots. All the food was top notch, pudding and dessert excellent, staff were wonderful and pleasant. Highly recommended. Thank you.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
