After we have eaten in the restaurant for years, we decided to take a 2 hours round trip to lunch. we will not hurry to go back. the menu was very simple, there was no fish and chips available, which was surprising as it is a popular lunch dish and after the choice of another food option after an hour it had not arrived. we said there was a problem with the grill and if we were happy to wait, it would be eating with us soon." Unfortunately, we had no time because we had other obligations, but it would have been helpful to have known this during the order and given the choice to eat or wait elsewhere. the only positive is that the bar staff was very patient and appealing."

Well we gave the food a second attempt after the first attempt was very poor and we can honestly say it has massively improved and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

I am so happy you have brought the Steak and Guinness pie back, we came last night and it was beautiful just 1 point the chips could have been cooked a bit more as they were on the anemic side however this won't stop is from returning

had lunch here, got drinks from the bar ordered eating on the table ( 1. people in there) took food order and came 10 minutes later to say that we don't get any cables. we would have known it would have gone elsewhere, but so remained soaked. instead ordered scampi and it came on cold plates. £20 pfund was deducted from the bill, but would sooner be the cod. Maybe they have the cod next time we go back.

I've been dining at the windmill for the last 25 years and the food has always been lovely and good portion sizes which is great because I have such a large appetite. However me and my partner were left so disappointed this evening. The service was very slow and the hunters chicken was really over cooked with hardly any bacon and cheese and the usual 2 large chicken breasts was downsized to one small breast with hardly any chips and 2 very small onion rings. I opted for the new bang bang chicken fried noodles which lacked any flavour or sauce. Hopefully this was just a one off bad meal!!...
