"My daughter treated us to a meal at The Berwick Inn, which is conveniently located only 35 minutes away from home. We were greeted by a friendly staff member and received excellent service, even though the restaurant was busy with several other customers during the lunch rush. The food was delicious and my wife loved the Irish coffee. We will definitely be returning soon."

"In April 2022, I had a wonderful dining experience at this charming restaurant with my family during the week. The food was absolutely delicious, featuring generous portions that were served promptly. The prices were reasonable, and the menu offered a good variety, accommodating vegan and other dietary needs. The staff were friendly and attentive, contributing to the overall pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful, historic English village pub with a lot of character. It became quite busy within half an hour of our arrival, which speaks to its popularity. There are several cozy rooms for dining, along with outdoor tables in the garden, an open fire, and ample parking. We will definitely be returning!"

"Appalling service, waited over an hour for food only came when complained. Drinks had already taken 20minutes and only 4 of us. They weren’t remotely attentive no waiting staff around, no food coming out and didn’t take our drinks order for a while other people complained. When I first arrived I asked if the vegan nachos was vegan mince or 3 bean. Told the latter, later when ordered told didn’t have it, so I said please double check as the chef had confirmed before they did and it was bean then came back and they did have it. After waiting over an hour I had to go up and ask how long as my 86 year old grandmother was pretty hungry. When it came out my vegan nachos had cow cheese on it. I said to the waitress are you sure this is vegan and she confirmed it was. I tentatively took a bite and immediately knew from the texture and reaction I get from lactose it was had to take it back. They replaced it with a new one but by then my party had eaten. Additional to this food was mediocre and table in front complained chicken was still pink table behind cancelled their order and left as they too had been waiting so long. What’s worse is google said they were quieter than usual and the staff certainly weren’t rushing about so just terrible staff, both serving, kitchen and I managerial. Never again!"

"A friend told me to try here, after a not so good pub meal recently. We have been going here for years, last time was last summer, so spur of the moment decision we went at midday on the first sunny day this year. It was really busy inside and the garden was buzzing. Hubby ordered the Bangers and Mash, and was really impressed, 3 large good quality sausages and Creamy fluffy mash With loads of thick gravy and tender broccoli, which he loved. I had the Moules Frites, Wow! A Huge portion of tender Mussels with gorgeous white wine and garlic sauce. With Bread and crispy chips. The sauce was so delicious I just couldn't stop eating it, but we couldn't eat everything. Didn't get to desserts or coffee, but thoroughly enjoyed all we ate. The staff are really lovely, run off their feet, but so efficient, serving both inside the pub and the garden. Didn't have to wait long at all. A pleasant pub on a lovely day, with great food....job done!"

"Had lunch here with parents and was very disappointed. It has really gone down hill. The whole place looks rundown and shabby and dirty. A refurbishment would give it a new lease of life. The ladies toilets were grotty, dirty grouting around sink and dirt on floor and unpleasant smell. The welcome was non existent by the manager or barman behind the bar. Could barely be bothered to speak. I said we had come here for my father in laws 91st birthday and he just didn’t respond. The table was old and worn and sticky and chairs very old and worn out. Could do with updating the furniture. There were cobwebs and dust on the dried out faded hops on the ceiling. The menu was a bit uninspiring but ok. My mum was disappointed by the garlic chicken Kiev. no garlic butter inside just in a jug and the green beans were very hard and inedible. I had the turkey which was ok but a mean portion of vegetable for two people so had to ask for another portion. The meat in the steak and kidney pie was also chewy and tough. My parents had a dessert. The crumble was lovely and hot and came with custard but the crème brûlée cheesecake was a mean portion considering it was £7. I think the desserts were over priced. We gave the waitress a tip as she was very good and cheerful and friendly but when we left we walked right past the manager and he didn’t even say thank you or goodbye. Such a shame as nice location and nice building. We will not be returning."
