I would completely agree with The review by Roy B. The gentleman behind the counter made no attempt to welcome anyone. The setting is fantastic so if it was run as it should be you would need to book a table. Perhaps the owners don’t need the trade?

I arrived at 1pm with two hungry children after a long walk. We had to request a refund as no food had been served by 2pm. It was very frustrating. Although the food may be delicious and the portions generous, waiting for over an hour made it meaningless.

Upon arrival, we were pleased to see a spacious car park and enjoyed a lovely stroll before dining at this establishment. There was ample outdoor seating on the deck, and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety on the menu. The portions were generous and satisfying. We will definitely return, and we imagine it would be even more enjoyable on a warmer day.

Visited today, very polite friendly staff otherwise would’ve been 1 star. Apart from jam on toast there wasn’t any vegetarian options. Asked for scrambled egg on toast, which wasn’t on the menu but they said they could do. It arrived with brown stale lettuce as side salad, I have never tasted scrambled egg like it tasted of sour milk. Nice location, friendly staff food overpriced and inedible. Coffee was ok but expensive

Breakfast here one morning was pretty good, but I felt slightly expensive; sausages could have been better quality. Good views across the reservoir, nice track to walk at one side. Dog friendly. Lady working the counter was very pleasant and helpful. Website says it opens at 0800 but when we went there at 0810 the following day, the man on the counter said well, yes, they were open, but wouldn't be cooking until about 0900. I suppose it's yet another COVID thing................ will we ever remember what customer service is?

I visited a café and ordered a bacon sandwich for £3.90. I requested it to be on toast, but after waiting for half an hour, I inquired about its status. When it finally arrived, it was not toasted and was served on thick, doughy bread with minimal bacon and was cold. This was well after our drinks had been served. I was very disappointed with both the service and the food. There was no apology for the delay in receiving our order. Despite being in a lovely location, I felt that the food and drinks were overpriced. I will not be returning as I felt cheated.

Paid for en evening ticket fly fishing this evening. I was the only person there fly fishing. Three people float fishing and one spinning on the bank and two people spinning off a boat. How can this place call itself a fly fishery? Questioned the owner in the cafe about this and her reply was well we have to live dont we I never even put my line in the water and walked of in disgust. Anyone thinking of fly fishing this water DON 'T unless you want someone next to you spinning or float fishing. This place is finished as a fly fishery. STEER WELL CLEAR OF THIS PLACE

Went here for lunch with a couple of friends only one member of staff was on and the service was very poor and the food was also really poor quality....the bacon sandwich at £3.55 was a large bap with 2 slices only of very overcooked bacon.... the lamb chilli was tasteless served with spaghetti!!! I purposely asked if they used real butter for the teacake....the lady told me she didn't use margarine then showed me a margarine tub that stated buttery spread....hence me choosing the bacon sandwich....the drinks came after we'd finished eating....all in all a very disappointing visit.... not a place we would be rushing back to!! Such a shame as such a beautiful spot

Travelling back from a weekend in Southport, thought we would stop off for a coffee Lovely setting at side of reservoir Place looked closed as it was so dark, my friends husband went to see if it was open, yes it was, we sat inside, there are tables outside There was one person serving, didn’t appear to interested as was on her phone all the time we were there except when taking orders at counter Friends hubby went to counter to order coffees, no cakes available, he wanted a toasted fruit tea cake, told there were none, so ordered spring rolls, The server brought drinks to table, not wearing a mask, then came back to table 10 mins later again no face mask) to say delay on spring rolls, half...
