"I feel as though the positive reviews on service must be false… such a shame to have to avoid the only pub in the village for fear of being verbally accosted from the moment you walk in. The landlady is just incomprehensibly rude, dismissive and just plain unpleasant… to everyone?! It’s like an airport, when it’s your only choice, you sometimes have to go there. Although I do AVOID this place at all costs. You are fairly safe if you just get a drink and find yourself a corner, but even then… and god forbid you ask a simple question, want to order food, want to book a table, turn up for your reservation (on time! , want some sugar for your coffee… READ THE REVIEWS, it’s all true… if you want an insane experience (a real life Karen’s Diner…? then feel free to try it out. If you want a nice evening out, afternoon drink… avoid!"

Lovely pub, great food. Landlady was unnecessarily brusque but the other staff made up for it.

We stopped off for lunch. What a pretty village and church. The Brewers Arms had an offer on board outside £10 for pub classics. We ordered off that menu , food was very good. When paying we were charged full price . They said we had to say when we ordered that we wanted the offer . Be warned . Pretty mean we thought . View menu

Unfriendly rude landlady. We arrived at 7.40pm to be told they weren’t serving food even though website says 8pm. Landlady gave other customers they arrived after us a menu and subsequently took an order from them. This isn’t the first time we’ve experienced rude, unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour from this person. The other reviews in relation to her speak for themselves. Such a shame as it ruins what could be a lovely pub/restaurant.

This is a lovely pub in a picturesque village. The rooms are clean and spacious and great value, the breakfast was one of the best I have had. The pub itself is nice, good selection of beers and the food looked great (although I didn’t eat there). The staff were friendly and attentive. There is a nice beer garden, this can mean a little bit of noise as you would expect however this did not prevent a good nights sleep. This will not be my last visit!

This is a busy pub and restaurant. When we visited it was packed! Service was attentive and the food was excellent! If you're looking for silver service and overly-gushy staff, then maybe this pub isn't for you... I don't really understand the bad reviews. I'd rather be served by professional staff who are accurate with your order when it is that busy, rather than expect a flowery welcome. We chose from the pub classics menu. Chips were amazing, coleslaw was amazing! Great selection of beers, very dog friendly and locals welcoming! View menu

I 've chosen to write a review based on the unbelievable rudeness of the landlady to even calling to make a booking. I 'd sent a message via the pub 's website and having received no response, decided to call to book a table. The landlady answered and immediately dismissed me telling her that I 'd sent a message via the website Oh, I won 't have read that! So why have it on the website? She really didn 't want to know why I was calling. I simply asked if I could book a table for dinner. I 've now read some recent reviews and have noticed the common theme; rudeness. I 'm so glad I 've cancelled the booking.

First time visiting as have just moved to the area. Friends had highly recommended it and so pleased they did. Nikki the Manager made me feel so welcome even though I was dining on my own didnt feel awkward at all. A lovely warm friendly atmosphere. I had the Curry of the Day Lamb Rogan Josh absolutely delicious the meat was so so tender and lots of delicious sauce and rice cooked to perfection . Despite being rather full up had a dessert ! Honey Panacotta with Blackberry Coulis . Would highly recommend it was delicious . I will definitely be bringing friends and family here. They do takeaway menu also great very reasonable brunch menu and their roast dinners on a Sunday have excellent reput...
