"Very pleased with our dining experience at Captain Jack's. Have driven past it many times but last night decided to give it a go a good decision. Menu was good uncomplicated and each dish easily explained. Service was good, without being rushed which I like !! When the food arrived both my wife and I were very pleased. She had the stuff chicken wrapped in bacon, while I had the brisket stack. Both meals were well presented and beautifully cooked with a generous serving. Food was well priced which is a bonus in this day and age. I will DEFINITELY be back !!"

Great food as always service was excellent and cannot recommend Captain Jack's enough. Had mushrooms and brie to start then a steak sizzler and scampi as mains. Try the Cruzcampo!

Table of 4 .The food was superb ,to a very high standard . The service was exceptional and an excellent atmosphere. Very busy and highly recommend to prebook . The total cost of the evening was value for money .

Exceptional food and service at very affordable prices. I had the fish and chips with onion rings on the side, and it was outstanding with generous portions. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant repeatedly. Additionally, they are fully licensed. View menu

I was in a party of 17 at a birthday party last night. My first time in Jacks Bistro. The menu choices were great. And very reasonably priced. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was excellent a lot of clean plates at the end of the meal! The waitresses were friendly, attentive and efficient. All in all a great dining experience.

Two nights two visits. Great meal both times, friendly prompt service and recognised us from the previous night, doesn’t sound like much but sometimes customers are just that! Shauna was very friendly it was great to meet talk to the chef, James. First night monkfish scampi a venison pie, second night naturally smoked haddock venison fillet. Unreal value quality can’t easily to go back

Visited this gem in Portaferry having read previous TripAdvisor reviews. Great find. Two young staff who were excellent. Food and service great. Had mussels and prawn starters so tasty followed by cod and prawn mornay and fish and chips which were very tasty. Unfortunately for many people that came after 7 pm couldn't enjoy as this place closes at 7 pm on a Sunday. So check opening hours. View menu

This restaurant has been our favorite for a while now. James and Jaqueline always make sure to take care of their guests. The staff are attentive every time we visit. We went as a group of 18 tonight and the experience was excellent. We brought some first-time guests who were impressed and said they will be back. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. My favorite dish is the cod mornay.

The service at this restaurant was exceptional and the food was delicious. However, I feel compelled to mention that I was disappointed by the £1.65 charge for a small pot of mayonnaise, which appeared to be store-bought and squeezed into the container. It seems unnecessary to spoil an otherwise great experience with an excessive charge for a simple condiment. I urge the restaurant to reconsider their pricing strategy and avoid appearing greedy. After all, the cost of sauces is minimal in comparison to the overall dining experience.

"We have eaten in Grace Neill many times the food has always been very good and we enjoy the live music. Tonight we booked a table for 4 in the restaurant for dinner and enjoyed lovely starters and main courses. The problem arose when we realised that the table was flooded with water, my husband’s trousers were soaking and my dress could have been rung out. We drew this to the attention of the waitress who went and got the manageress. We suggested that the ice bucket was leaking. The manageress said this was unlikely, held it up in the air and then admitted that it was in deed leaking. She offered me some ‘blue towels’ to dry my dress off and when I declined she offered to take me ‘into the disabled toilet’, which I found rather bizarre and also declined. When the bill came £191) no gesture had been made to compensate for soaking our attire. I took the bill to the girls at the till and asked them to have another look at it, in light of our soaking clothes. The manageress returned to the table, with a new bill, having deducted an amount by way of compensation, for which we were grateful, but then she proceeded to comment that I had been rude to staff. Ironically, we found this comment rather rude in itself and also totally unnecessary. Having admitted that our dining experience was not perhaps 100%, it was rather counter productive to then claim we had been rude. It also further exacerbated our dissatisfaction. A disappointing end to what should have been another lovely meal in our local pub. Perhaps some management training in customer service would be useful."
