"On reading the reviews I feel I’ve been robbed of great service and great food as today, I had neither. Our lunch took over half an hour to come and when my haddock Kedgeree arrived there was one lonely piece of fish in a whole plate of rice and peas. The poached egg was hard cooked and there was no seasoning. It was a disgrace. There are so many nice places to eat around this area so unfortunately I would not return here."

We tried the chicken tikka, the venison stews and a couple of lighter dishes at lunch times all very tasty indeed. portion sizes not the largest but we were not left hungry.

Visited a few times over a number of months and have enjoyed Cargils. A little disappointed the menu has not changed over time which made it feel a bit dull. That said, the monkfish bisque was beautifully cooked

Interior was very welcoming, staff were friendly and helpful, had a hidden gem' feel. Warmly lit but not too bright The warmed wood pigeon starter (with poached pears and candied hazelnuts) was one of the best starters we've ever had, like something out of MasterChef Overall a lovely experience and highly recommended

Amazing food, atmosphere and lovely staff. I cant recommend Cargills enough! It's amazing. I would add that if you are curvy then the chairs inside might be a little uncomfortable (see pic) but there is seats outside and in the gazebo which don't have restricting arm rests.
