"Carluccio’s excellent legacy is being sorely undermined by this slapdash branch in Cribbs Causeway. We arrived at around 11.30am last Saturday morning and waited in a cue which several people eventually left) whilst the well meaning waitresses cleaned and reset the empty tables making sure that the didn’t make eye contact with anyone waiting in the cue to be served. Then the extremely unhelpful manager eventually came over after putting the palm of his hand up to the waiting cue in a “ do not enter “ gesture and said get this) “ Yes ?” to which I replied “ A table for two please “ “For what , because we’ve finished breakfast and we don’t start lunch until 12” he replied. As it was now 11.45 I said “ how about we come in for a couple of flat whites and when 12 o’clock comes around we will order some lunch.” He said nothing and showed us to a table. The lunch was pathetic, a couple of bruschettas with a tiny scattering of lettuce and one tomato cut in half. I had to ask for olive oil. On the up side the waiting staff, who spent most of their time all gathered around a serving station, were charming… all of them were really nice , however this once favourite eating spot was let down by surly management and very average food."

Went to have breakfast but yet again 2nd time at least). No chef so no breakfast. Seems to be an ongoing issue. It is a shame because usually quite good.

Not impressed. £14.95 for a Caesar salad that consisted of a few baby gem leaves, what would equate to half a small chicken breast and something sprinkled on top which were inedible. Will not be repeating my visit.

Awful meal. I think they are having problems as they were turning people away. Coffee was bitter and to me undrinkable. My meal was tasteless and the chicken ultra processed full of water. Not what you normally expect. Wouldn’t go back.

Awful experience been waiting an hour for food, restaurant isn't busy and staff haven't kept us updated. Food was chased and only after asking did the bruschetta come out (not hard to make). Lunch finally turned up and pasta was like warm. Not impressed won't be visiting again. View menu

Dreadful. Poor service even though they weren’t busy, truly awful overpriced dried up lasagne. Greeted but the sitter advising they were out of most things on the menu and showing us a scrappy piece of paper with a load of products listed. Never again £50 for 3 diet cokes, 2 dried up lasagnes and some soggy garlic bread total rip off

Whilst the service provided was friendly and polite, the meals provide very poor value for money. I had the Chicken Milanese which comprised a dry piece of chicken covered in breadcrumbs, two tomatoes and a bowl of lettuce with no dressing. I will not be returning and would suggest that others think very carefully before eating here when there is so much choice at The Mall.

Ordered lasagne, the first attempt was burnt, which they tried to hide with a garnish!!!! Second attempt had been microwaved for too long and the pasta was a solid lump at the corners, beyond edible and was sent back. The waitress said that the manager would remove it from the bill, like I would pay for something I couldn’t eat!! The portion was absolutely minuscule for the price, more like a starter or child’s portion. My partners lunch was nice, shame we couldn’t enjoy our meal together Would not go back View menu

My partner and I were shopping in the Mall and needed a quick bite to eat for lunch. We were seated quickly and offered menus for normal and gluten free meal options. Our drinks came very quickly and the mocktails were really tasty. The waitress advised due to requiring gluten free meals, the manager had to come and take our order. Within a few minutes, the manager had taken our orders. Our meals arrived really quickly and were so good. I had a gf chicken and mushroom risotto, and my partner had gf seafood pasta both were full of flavour. We could pay for our tab easily via the QR code on the table. I would recommend this restaurant to all.

This used to be such a nice place to come after some shopping. But has declined. The waiting staff were very friendly. The restaurant was just about clean enough but the menu's and the floors were really grubby. The starters were all fine but this was because not much cooking needed for the burata, tomato salad and some prawns. Then the mains came, 3 beef ragu pasta. The beef was not a ragu, it was large chunks of stewed tough beef. We could not eat it but did eat some of the pasta leaving the beef to the side. The desserts came at all different times. Both the canoili and the doughnuts were disgusting, raw in the middle Obviously the chef cannot cook. The manager did not charge us for the f...

"I was excited to revisit the New Inn after many years, as it used to be a favorite spot of mine. My group of 8 had pre-ordered at the request of the New Inn, but we were told 15 minutes after our booking time that our food was just being prepared. An hour later, our food still hadn't been served. After checking with the staff, the manager assured us that our order was next. Another 10 minutes passed before our food finally arrived. The gammon came with sides that we didn't like and were not mentioned on the menu. The portions were oversized, which was nice, but they were too much and off-putting. The salad trimmings were of poor quality. The fish in batter was enjoyed by those who ordered it. The main meals were okay, but I would have preferred better quality over quantity. We had to chase the staff for a glass of water, and even after being offered dessert menus, no one came to take our order. When we decided to follow up at the bar, the manager seemed more interested in finding out which staff member had failed to take our order than in solving the issue. The service was okay but could have been better, as no one checked on us after our meals were served. It seems like the staff could benefit from more positive training from a supportive mentor. When we asked for the bill, it took a while for it to be brought to us, so we ended up paying on the way out. It's a shame, as I had fond memories of the New Inn, but I am unlikely to return after this experience."
