Casa Italia Bamberg

This restaurant in the old town serves tasty food at reasonable prices in a pleasant atmosphere matched with friendly and prompt service.

We enjoyed our meals here. The French waiter who spoke Italian was very friendly and nice. We had Bruschetta and Spaghetti Carbonara and Bolognese, both good, but the chef uses too much sauce, drowns the pasta

We would have liked to have lunch in a characteristic place but too many lines, to eat I don't think so. So we entered in this restaurant, where only the name and the menu are Italian, for the rest the waiter is the classic German.. View menu

While wandering around the Bamberg Altstadt on a cold December day, we came across the Casa Italia. The staff greeted us very warmly and the service was very prompt despite how busy they were. We thought the food, wine and beer were all very good....Would definitely visit again if in Bamberg

We had dinner here twice. First time very good and thoroughly enjoyed it. Super food for kids, so came back the next day. Our youngest ordered the spaghetti Bolognese, same as the day before, but this time it tasted just awful, distinctly like Knorr Bouillon,...over salted and quite uneatable. We informed the staff who offered a free desert but to our surprise, the dish remained on the bill! We might have been unlucky because everything else was good.

We found this restaurant to be a bit frustrating. My husband and i ordered a half litre of lambrusco (that we would share) and got a glass. So we asked for another glass and had to ask again a couple of times because...it didn't come. We were brought bruscetta that we didn't order and the waiter insisted that we did. We asked for tap water and were brought a bottle of still water. The pastas that the kids had seemed nice enough but i ordered a soup with what was described as dumplings in a veal broth with gorgonzola cheese which sounded really nice but it was slightly undercooked pasta parcels and was quite underwhelming.

My friend and I visited Casa Italia for pizza this Sunday afternoon. While the pizzas were tasty, the service was rather unprofessional and degrading. We had no comfort in eating our food as the two waitors were constantly hovering around us. One particular waitor, while...speaking to us, felt the right to place his hands on our shoulders on many occasions whilst in conversation! Absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional! The waitor cleared the plates while I still had food in my mouth! When we asked to pay, the response we got was why, ye have only just arrived . Finally, the waitor took it in his own initiative to keep the change even though we had not discussed leaving a tip at that time...

We had pizzas in Casa Italia (in the evening) on the day we arrived in Bamberg. We were the only clients in the restaurant at about c'clock in the evening. The pizzas were ok once we got them but we were a...bit surprised that it took such a long time since there didn't seem to be any take-away-rush either... The next day we wanted to have a late espresso and grappa since we had dinner in another restaurant earlier. We thought that Casa Italia would be a place offering us what we wanted, but we were wrong. Our late' was at about pm and at that time we were told (in a restaurant that claims it closes at pm) that they had already cleaned their coffee machine, so grappa would be ok, but no espr...
