"As it was my wife 's 30th birthday I had booked a party of 8 for an evening meal. It was agreed by prior arrangement with the restaurant that my wife 's friend could decorate a table with birthday balloons and confetti in perpetuation for our arrival. However as we arrived another family had been seated at our decorated table. Even though the family notified the staff that they weren 't there for a 30th birthday. As our friends arrived before us they notified the staff that the table was decorated for our party but the response we got from the staff member was it wasn 't me that did it and made no effort to rectify the mistake. So it was up to my friends to explain to family that were sat at the table and move the balloons. However nothing could be done about the confetti as it was scattered all over. When ordering drinks a gin and tonic was spilt down one of my party 's jacket and in her hair. Fair to say she was far from impressed. This aside the food was very good and the portions were large. The staff supplied a bottle of prospectors in the way of an apology. However I would reccomend that certain staff members undergo training around attitudes and customer service."

Cancelled my reservation made 2 weeks ago on the basis that they didn't have any steak. It was also my birthday meal... really disappointed.

came last night with my partner for our jubilee here and eating was absolutely incredible. we had both chickens to catch and a steak for our head. everything was perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. 100% worth the 2 hours drive from birmingham! next time we make sure to bring enough space for dessert. the employees were also amazing, attentive, courteous and just in general beautiful!

Went for Father’s Day. Meal was excellent. Step mum had salmon cooked exactly how she liked it. Dad had a platter that looked phenomenal and I had a cracking fillet steak. So tender, it was incredible. You could tell everything was cooked and made fresh. The atmosphere was very welcoming and the head chef even got involved for some banter between cooking courses. Would definitely go back.

Group booking; we arrived was asked to wait in the bar as our table wasn't ready. The bar which is the adjoining business is very dark and moody atmospheric and so the contrast from here to the restaurant was that the restaurant felt a little too bright. The restaurant have really tried to offer a fresh style to Bawtry, and the open cooking area is good to see. The food was nice, however, the service was in real need of improvement. Our fith table guest was crammed on the end said she felt like a child, a bigger table was needed.
