Iwase - Menu

We've eaten here a couple of times and it is our favorite Japanese restaurant in Frankfurt. There are many Japanese in Frankfurt and many eat here. No reservations for lunch but we usually only wait 20 minutes for a table. It's worth the wait. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Das Iwase ist ein typisches japanisches Restaurant mit karger Einrichtung. Dass es aber teilweise recht heruntergekommen wirkt (bis zu dem Schild für das Mittagsmenü, wo das "M" schon heruntergefallen ist) und man unschöne Einblicke in die Küche hat, mindert das Vergnügen. Das Essen hingegen ist sehr gut.

Very small typical Japanese layout restaurant. Serves excellently prepared fresh Sushi and Sashimi, but also other brilliant authentic Japanese dishes. This is a must visit for us every time we are in the Rhein-Main area. You definitely need to book in advance. My favourite are the oysters when in season.

This tiny, unassuming restaurant is home to some of the finest Japanese cuisine that Frankfurt has to offer. Their fish is fresh and delicious, and the sushi rice is perfect. Tempura is wonderfully crisp and tasty as well. The waitstaff are polite and friendly. They serve a truly excellent lunch menu, with amazing tempura and sashimi sets.

Wir haben das Iwase vor gut einem Jahr über die Empfehlung durch Freunde für uns entdeckt. Wir kommen seitdem regelmäßig. Ich esse oft japanisch, aber die Qualität der Speisen ist hier ganz besonders gut. Wen das karge funktionale Ambiente nicht stört und wer sich am übersichtlichen Platzangebot nicht stört, sondern nur auf exzellentes Essen aus ist, sollte versuchen, hier einen Tisch zu bekommen.

I tried this place, because I am still looking for a good sushi place in Frankfurt, and this one had good reviews.I was disappointed.The sushi was less than good...the sish is cut too thick, and it is chewy. A good Sushi Man does not do that.The rest...a normal miso soup. Very normal chicken skewter. The ambient is not ok.Tiny, narrow, loud, unconfortable. And it´s very expensive. You can get same quality sushi round the corner at sushi star, for half the price. Sorry, won´t be back

Very small place with limited seating, but you don't come here for the atmosphere or social aspect, you come here for the food ... And the food really is top notch. I love sushi, and I've been to more sushi restaurants than I can count or recall. Predominantly what differentiates between them is the selection, but when you go to a place where something as simple as a nigiri or sashimi tastes superior, you know you've found one of the top 5% of sushi restaurants that are on par with the quality of sushi you find in Japan. Iwase is in that category.

Seit langem habe ich es nicht mehr so sehr genossen Sushi zu essen. Die Zutaten waren absolut frisch und Sushi war eine Meisterleistung. Für mich ein Restaurant, dass mich ab sofort öfter sehen wird. Sehr zu empfehlen ist der hauseigene und selbstgemachte IceTea. Als Vorspeise suchte ich mir DimSun aus, die super waren. Zum Nachtisch gönnte ich mit Tempura Banana, die mich schon beim Servieren umhaute! Der Geschmack und die knusprige Panade haben mich absolut umgehauen. Im Sommer kann man sowohl draußen als auch drinnen sitzen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich habe nix vermisst!

So The Verdict The Place: Its a small but Cozy Japanese Restaurant. kinda like Izakaya Style. The Atmosphere is very Japanese Scale of 1:1 from Japan The Food: Ordere some Appetizers and Set Menu. The Oyster appetizer is good. Oyster is not from Frozen section of Supermarket at all. The Shisamo Fish is also good. I tasted the Chicken Yakitori and it is also very japanese Recipe. Not the typical imbiss microwave oven baked one, it is authentic. I tasted their Sushi platter. its a genuine one Salmon and Tuna just melts in your mouth. The Fatty Tuna sushi is very fresh! The Unagi is fantastic! Grade A Unagi is used for sure since from the taste and bite quality is absolutely amazingly good. T...
