"Very pleasant experience considering restrictions. We booked a table outside and we were sat in the back yard, under a marquee. Next time I will request inside as I loved the low ceiling and old fashioned decor. The service was very good and the food excellent. The menu is very short but it provides great choice. We were 4 (2 couples) and we enjoyed the food. The prawns on bisque sauce were so delicious, I need to learn how to prepare that sauce. I followed that with scallop ceviche, it wasn't my favourite as I am used to real South American ones but I still cleared the plate. It was beautifully decorated. And as a main course I had the fillet steak which was cooked perfectly rear. But the tastiest food of them all was the ox cheek croquette that accompanied the fillet steak. That was sensationally tasty. That should be prepared and served in the future as its own main course. The only criticism is that the cheese board was too small to my taste as I love cheese. But there was an extra touch at the very end of the meal..., they prepared one free birthday and a free wedding anniversary treat for my son and his wife. Totally unexpected. The waitress just heard us during the initial toast and the rest is history!"

Kinghams is recommended in several dining guides and my sister and I headed out into deepest darkest Surrey to dine here.

false criticism. this is a response to the review written by april of kinghams restaurant in shere. the owner of the restaurant had nothing to do with the incident they describe. when they remember when they returned to their car, they began to swear, quite loud that they were locked up when they were not. much to the embarrassment of the people they were with and others in the parking lot. I was a customer of the restaurants and suggested when they calm down that I would move my car and so. please check their facts (and their writings) before they publish comments in future.

Nowhere beats Kinghams for this type of venue. For those who don't mind paying for a top quality menu , top quality cooking and top service, this is easily the best in the area. You experience fine dining in a smart rustic, timber framed building in the centre of iconic Shere village. It feels that everything has been thought of to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. However, do not expect a blow-out. The food is prepared and served in a style which calls for every mouthful to be savoured and admired. Four courses were not too much if you have a normal appetite and some delicious side dishes were added too. Overall, a place to enjoy the high life now and again.
