"it was our first visit to oban and a rainy evening when we called here without booking. it was very busy, so we were lucky to get a table right away. our beverage order was taken immediately and our food order was taken at the arrival. service. was perfect and we really enjoyed eating. we have shared our ancestors of bruschetto and meatballs. the bruschetto was covered with tomato and came with a beautifully dressed salat. my man had the salmon paste with extra garnel that he really enjoyed. I had penne arabienti, which I chose regularly. I never had a court with so many chilis in him that I iove. it was amazingly spicy, the best of all time. we had no high expectations and thought it was something too touristy, but we are very happy. overall it was very good."

Last minute decision to rat here as a solo diner. I had a delicious seafood starter followed by a pizza. Really enjoyed it and would recommend a visit.

What a wonderful change of pace from the usual Scottish food (which I also like). I didn’t need a reservation and this place was perfect for my last night in Oban. Such good food!

The restaurant was literally crowded as it was a friday evening, but this shouldn't be a reason to serve a raw meal. I've ordered a pizza and they served it RAW, that's why I left the half of it on the plate. View menu

Chose to have dinner here instead of within our hotel. We made a good choice, nice fresh food. Pizza was nice and pasta dish was also tasty and not too much on your plate to put you off. Was a busy restaurant but staff were...very tentative.

Party of 6 on a sailing trip. The food was excellent especially the pasta dishes the wine was very acceptable and reasonably priced. Most of all, the service was fantastic, the young people running the restaurant were attentive and helpful. 5 stars all...round, and very good value too thank you!

the pizzas were good, but the waitress did not listen carefully enough when we ordered and took spaghetti bolognese instead! then we had to wait 10 minutes until the order could be restored. the restaurant has placed a service fee on the bill that we have asked to be removed. they didn't do it earlier. we have always found this restaurant excellent in recent years. How bad.

as we arrived without booking, we sat after only 10 minutes waiting time, where young attentive robyn immediately took our order. we went for a few starters, nets and sides that came out pretty fast. our sides came at the same time as our...beginners we thought was a little strange, but we were too happy to start it. drinks were great and constantly refilled. our main consisted of large bowls of pasta, and we could not be more satisfied. we had a nice view of the bay during our dinner. would recommend if a break of seafood is needed!

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
