Delicious meal First time to order a take away from Richie’s. We had heard good things. We chose a set meal. 3 curries and 2 rice, onion bhaji and chapati. Excellent. Great price as well.

This was our second visit to Richies with our friends who were visiting us from the Midlands, Richies did not disappoint, the food was again top class with excellent friendly service and prices. I can highly recommend Richies for excellent Indian cuisine

We were looking forward to our Indian and were grateful that they allowed our dog in. However, we were all disappointed by our meals. We had vegetarian madras, chicken madras, pilau rice, and chips. All were very bland and tasteless. We won't be returning.

The restaurant is very clean and the food quality is excellent. You can come in for the best South Indian cuisine. The owners, who also serve as chefs, are the best people ever. They treat their customers like family and I was pleased to dine there. I will definitely visit again soon.

We arrived in Torquay on a Sunday evening and everywhere was closed. We were getting desperate wondering around and stumbled across this place which was an absolute life saver as we were getting a bit grumpy. Really friendly service, great portions (we couldn't eat eat it all) but most importantly tasty and well cooked food. I don't usually order tikka masala as it is a bit sickly but theirs is made with yoghurt not cream so easy on the belly. Small menu but what they did they did well. We recently dined at Richie's and enjoyed the incredibly delicious and authentic South Indian cuisine. The flavors of the food transported us back to our time living in Tamil Nadu. We tried the Idly, Masala Dosa, and chicken Biryani, all of which were freshly prepared and tasted like homemade dishes. The service was excellent, especially from Jothi who was very friendly and welcoming. If we find ourselves back in the area, we will definitely return to Richie's. We highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to experience true flavors of Tamil Nadu, South India. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Regrettably, our opinion is very much at odds with that of other reviewers. It must have been an off night. Service was extremely slow (not helped by the waiter losing our order altogether). Our starters came without the sauce and I had to ask twice for our drinks. We both ordered Vindaloo, a wonderful curry with layers of flavour originating in Portuguese Goa. Sadly, unlike the one we had 3 days earlier in a different restaurant, the only flavour in this was chilli and almost too hot to eat. No subtlety whatsoever. After having a bad experience at Mahabareth, Bangladeshi owned restaurant the night before (Friday), I really felt we deserved to be treated to a far better meal on Saturday. We found Richie restaurant to have good reviews and responsive to anything of a negative review, which proves they care in the quality of their food and service. We had the best experience of home style authentic cuisine, with good portion sizes. The flavours were just perfectly spiced. We had fried Cauliflower starters pieces, main course as King Prawn dish, Dosa, boiled rice and chappatti's.
