"Not going to lie felt like a pop up shop. 4 of us which was fine. But 6 came in and there was no way could a 4 and a 2 sit separate. It was like 2 of you just can’t sit here ans half full a table and eat! No alcohol license but the pub next door allows you to buy and take it in? Not sure how legal that is? Or pop to the co op and bring your own. Told this twice! Which granted is a good thing. I wasn’t told that the last time I tried to order wine. Satay came mixed in the sauce and very spicy. Chow mein was nice and fresh. Fried rice looked good. Chips usual Chinese style. Very quick too. Waitress was really attentive if slightly rushed. Must be 30 people sittings in total plus take away and they deliver. Bill 2 separate families clearly too. Told bill was full total and can’t pay separate as don’t have time to add it, we should have said at the start. Don’t have time to faff with doing it as they would get a row and they don’t want that? I’m all for good chat with the staff but being told they can’t separate a bill as it will cause a “row” isn’t what I want to hear."

I just had an amazing meal delivered from Anchor Tavern. The portion sizes were large and the food was delicious, all at a great value. Well done Sea Dragon!

The food at this restaurant was excellent, with customer service that was top-notch. The establishment was very clean, which is especially important during the pandemic. I highly recommend this place.

Food was faultless. Friendly service. Reasonably priced. We had Hot and Sour Soup, Sesame Prawn Toast, Combination Satay, Chicken and green pepper in black bean sauce, fried rice, and a banana fritter. Big portions of well cooked tasty food. Every dish was perfect. Will definitely be back on our next visit to the island. View menu

Popped in last night after a long drive. Can not fault it. The staff were lovely, food was plentiful and delicious. It was one of our friends birthdays and one of the staff went out to get her a birthday cake!! Second to none. You can’t buy alcohol, it’s a bring your own restaurant but the co-op is minutes away. Would definitely return if I came back. Thank you

As we were staying Just one night in Rothesay we decided to call in to the Chinese for a meal. We were very warmly welcomed and told of we wanted alcohol that the pub next door would sort us out! My husband went next door and was told that he only sold small bottles of wine...but kindly directed him to the coop! Such helpful people. We enjoyed Singapore noodles, chicken in oyster sauce and egg friend rice...along with our wine. It’s only a small place...but plenty of people were calling in for takeaways!

Visiting Rothesay for the first time since childhood and found this lovely wee restaurant with its friendly staff. It’s only serving takeaway at the moment due to Covid but that didn’t put us off. My husband and I couldn’t believe the size of the portions and the food was delicious and fresh. We had planned on eating somewhere else the following night but couldn’t resist trying something else from the menu. Will definitely be making this our go to place when we return later this year. Fingers crossed it’s able to open up for dining again by then so we can enjoy its traditional atmosphere. View menu

We ordered a takeaway for delivery on Friday night. The staff member who took our order initially said 20 minutes then revised it to 45 which we said was not a problem. However after an hour it had still not arrived; we called and it was clear they had forgotten our order. The staff member said it would be 15 minutes more because they had been busy; not really apologising. I asked for a discount or a waive of the delivery charge but they said this wasn’t possible. When the food DID arrive 20 min later it was huge portions, hot and very tasty. Shame about the service we’ll try somewhere else next time.

I met Mr. Lee while walking past him outside Bonnie Clyde. He recognized that I was not a local and we briefly chatted in Hakka. He then invited us into the restaurant where he and the kitchen staff had a friendly chat with us. Mr. Lee mentioned that his restaurant now operates as a takeaway as his children have moved away. On our last night, we visited the takeaway where Mr. Lee recognized us and even had a chat with my mum on the phone. We ordered a variety of dishes including satay chicken, spring rolls, bbq pork, sweet and sour chicken, noodles, sea dragon soup, sea dragon combo, fried rice, and chicken strips. The food was delicious and plentiful, especially the munchies box which inclu...

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
