"We enjoyed a very nice evening meal here last week. They have an excellent 'specials ' board which included a 'fish of the day '. In fact, my husband opted for the Hake. I chose the gammon steak. Great service, served with a friendly smile. Attentive, efficient staff. A talented chef too, as the food was perfectly cooked, tasty, and well presented. We 've been in here before and they are consistently good. The desserts were mouthwatering delicious. I particularly enjoyed the tiramisu cheesecake ... Wow! It was sublime. They have good local ales. I 'd advise booking in the bar areas as for me, it 's nicer than the main dining area. It feels cosier and more intimate. Horses for courses though. Well priced. Next time, I may try one of their award winning pies. Rooms: Didn 't use, so not rated. Food drinks: Excellent. Highly recommended. You can 't go wrong at the Anchor in my view. Noteworthy details: Cosy bar areas by fireplace."

"I placed an order through their website and ended up waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes. When the food finally arrived, it was the wrong order. After numerous phone calls and a lot of time spent trying to resolve the issue, I finally reached someone who told me the correct order was just 10 minutes away. I then waited an additional 30 minutes, and after another call, it took another 25 minutes for the food to arrive. In total, it took 3 hours from when I ordered! Sadly, the quality of the food was not up to their usual standards. We have been loyal customers of Tamarind Bay for over 6 years without any issues, but based on recent reviews, it seems their service and quality have significantly declined. We really want to give them another chance in the future, but we are hesitant to waste our time and money."

"I booked the venue for my stepfather's wake, which included a buffet. When the funeral party arrived, the staff were still setting up the food. The buffet offered a mix of hot and cold dishes, but the quality left much to be desired. The roast potatoes were greasy, the chips frozen, and the sausages deep fried with sparse fillings in the rolls. The presentation was underwhelming and unappetizing. Some guests raised concerns at the bar, but there was no effort to address them. Despite multiple emails to the Orchard, most were ignored, with one response stating that the buffet was standard for the price paid. Each person was charged £8.45 for this disappointing spread. Requests for gluten-free options were made, but the lack of labeling left our Coeliac guests uncertain about what they were eating. The lack of care and respect shown by the Orchard in handling our complaints was disappointing. No apology or compensation was offered for the subpar experience, causing embarrassment on a somber occasion. I have no intention of returning or recommending this venue in the future."

"Visited on November 26, 2023. The restaurant was very busy, and we were happy to wait for our food; however, after an hour, it arrived lukewarm. I spoke with the duty manager, but he refused to ask the kitchen staff to recook it, saying they were too busy. While I understand it was a hectic time, that's no excuse for serving cold food. Additionally, one of the waitstaff, Cara, was quite rude. I didn’t catch the duty manager's name, but we were there from 3:15 PM, which might help identify him. There's simply no excuse for food not being served hot, regardless of how busy it is. We frequently dine at Stonegallows and other Green King locations, and we've never encountered rudeness when needing to voice a concern. No one should have to deal with issues like this when going out to enjoy a meal with friends and family."
