"Bit disappointing. We had breakfast here in April ‘23 for convenience, as we stayed at the Premier Inn which we could not fault. The breakfast however was disappointing. Non-dairy milk was provided on request, someone then had to go and look for it, open a pack, gave me enough for one drink, and then put it away again, after having waited for it the first time for a while at the counter, I did not bother with a second drink. It was nowhere near as nice as my coffee machine at home. As the ‘all you can eat’ is no longer self-service, we waited for about half an hour to get our order in, making us a bit late and rushed for our timed-entry at the castle. We’d long finished our drinks and croissants before we finally got to order. I had mentioned earlier to the waiter that my croissant had had a hair in it. He said to put the hair in the bin, I told him the hair was baked into the croissant, he then just pointed at the bin, and told me to have an other one, but I was a bit put off by then. Later someone mentioned that you can also ask to have your croissant warmed up, but this was not apparent from any sign. When my breakfast came it had a bit of cooked plastic into the egg, like from bacon wrapping, I didn’t bother mentioning it, just fished it out, had my breakfast and went. Sausages were nice, and had it been buffet I would have had an other one, so I imagine they save a lot of money by running it this way instead! The rest of the food was pretty mediocre. I won’t be back for breakfast in a hurry, but had a lovely night at the Premier Inn though. As this is very close to the center, if walking is not a problem for you, I’d go somewhere else!"

It was a birthday meal with family the staff although very busy were attentive. We all enjoyed our meal and it was a surprise to have the staff bring my birthday cake out and sang happy birthday . A lovely evening and we were able to relax and take our time .

They have free breakfast for all the kids . I was not aware when I visited for the first time . So a great deal . Food is awesome. The staff is nice. On a recent visit, my little one had the mac and cheese but the butternut squash was very over powering, so much he didn't eat it. I had the lasagne and I couldn't for the life of me figure out the weird taste in it, really not nice at all. Friends had the steak, which was lovely and the loaded fries were good too as was the coleslaw.

First time here for a date night. As soon as we walked in the door, we were asked if any of us had dietary restrictions, which was nice. Had the loveliest server, his name was Neil. He introduced himself and was very nice, making sure we were enjoying our meals and drinks. I had the calamari and a chicken ribs combo, it was so good Thanks Beefeater, we will definitely be back

Lack of staff. Waited 5 minutes at reception. Took ages to get our drinks then the same with food. Waitress chatting to person behind the bar while food sat at servery for ages. Asked for pepper sauce. Had eaten half meal before it arrived. Steak was well cooked and tasty WHEN I got it, although wouldn't say it was filling, scant amount of veg. Absolutely no atmosphere at all.

We eat here regularly and most of the time the food and service is excellent. Like every business they sometimes have an off day which is only human. Food is high quality for the market they are in. Highly recommend the mixed grill. Staff are happy and polite. Claire for us is what a hospitality employee should aim for. Can't praise her high enough. Always remembers our order is very friendly and we never need to ask for refills on our drinks.
