It was like overpriced spoons but worse. Burgers was like they had been microwaved and coke tasted fake. Not impressed.

Used to be a lovely old fashioned proper pub. Now it's modern , expensive and nearly always empty in the evening s. Sad.

Didn't have lunch, pub too cold. Elderly people having like lunch sitting in overcoats and scarves. Central heating off and fire not lit. Temp outside -4C

Excellent !!! I booked the function room for my 60th birthday party. There were about 40 people. The room was perfect for this size of function. I ordered a buffet and it arrived bang on time. The food was excellent and the chips kept on flowing. The staff were all super helpful and attentive.

My family visited for a birthday recently as we used to go a while back and wow now there are just too many dogs! It 's just not on OR fair on other people big wet sheltland pony size dogs in a place that size. Tables close together now too. My son has a dog allergy and seeing a dog jump up at the bar where they serve drinks is unacceptable. One dog was even off lead where people were eating and started barking. It was like a kennel club meeting........Food was ok staff friendly but the dogs! Not nice when you can smell them sat next to you. What ever happened to small dogs or well behaved dogs on leads welcome?

Nice venue and the staff friendly but the food was very disappointing. This place once had a good reputation for food but from my experience and from other reviews it seems there's a problem. 2 meals I asked for from the menu were not available. Carrot and cabbage that accompanied the mushroom pie x2 sparse and bland, the pies themselves small but tasty. Fish and chips, fish cooked without batter for gluten free but was very dry and tuff, terrible tasting cheap white fish. The all day breakfast was ok the sausages nice. The restaurant was to cold to comfortably sit and eat with your coat off. Poor vegan vegetarian choice. Poor value for money.

We have had lunch here many many times, and have had very enjoyable experiences in the past; unfortunately this was not the case on our recent visit. The whole place was freezing and when asked if they could put more wood into the log burner which had a tiny ember slightly glowing, we were informed that it would become a health and safety issue to do this, because the small amount of wood stored at the side of the burner could ignite! when we left the stove was completely out. The food was well below standard, only frozen French fries available not the chunky chips we have had in the past, the fish was also from frozen, and very watery in the middle when cooked, the hot drinks had to be retu...

Really unfortunate our last experience was so poor compared to when we visited in the summer. Visited as a family on a Sunday and was surprised there was seating for us, we were grateful. Lovely atmosphere and nicely decorated. No staff members to be found but sign said to help ourselves to a table. Don’t like the ordering at the bar thing but that’s personal preference; however makes it feel very much like a Wetherspoons. After ordering, we asked where our food was as we were waiting more than 40 minutes. It came a few minutes later. Kids chicken and chips, absolutely fine.
