"We poled up (4 of us) after 3 on a Sunday afternoon on spec after our hotel had tried to book a table for us and been told they were fully booked. Inside was fully booked but the outside tables were available and there was sunshine and no rain! So we ordered 4 cream teas. Served promptly, courteously, and efficiently. And far better than Devon or Cornwall combined could do, I reckon. Lovely location, great service, really friendly staff and so tolerant too. We were meeting up with friends of over 50 years, sharing memories, and really enjoying the warm scones cream tea, and aftetnoon sunshine, so we stayed there chatting oblivious of time passing beyond closing time. The staff just left us alone, no pressure to leave and when I popped my head in to say thank you and sorry, I was met with just my smiles and thank yous for appreciating us! Simply superb. We will be back."

"We visited this lovely, immaculately clean and friendly cafe last month with our baby and dog to grab some food and a coffee and it did not disappoint. The staff are warm and greet you with kindness and a helpful manner at all times. Including our little dog who was spoilt with attention. The coffee is exceptional and their eco friendly cups reflect their kind and respectful responsibility for their surroundings. The cakes are amazing, probably the best we have tasted for a long time! The food was exceptional and we will be rushing back soon. I have seen multiple references to another cafe slightly down the road “woodlands” I believe. We were in fact turned away as our pushchair and baby were simply to large and inappropriate for their service. This was not the case at Kitchenetta and we are glad to see this local business looking after the local growing community. Thank you for a wonderful lunch and we will Be recommending you highly to all!"

"During my holiday in the area with trees, my friends and I decided to stop by a restaurant. We were unpleasantly surprised when a lady, who I believe was Irish, rudely demanded that we wait to be seated, even though there was no sign indicating this procedure. Despite people walking in before us, we obediently waited while another unfriendly lady brought us an extra chair so that all four of us could sit down. Feeling like misbehaving children, we almost left, but one of our friends needed a restorative drink due to recent illnesses. Choosing to only have drinks instead of cake, we experienced more abrupt service from the shorter lady. The drinks, delivered by a young girl who seemed unable to smile, were actually quite good. However, the atmosphere of the restaurant felt toxic and uncomfortable, leading me to suggest that others avoid this place and instead visit the friendly people at the deli down the road, where delicious cakes and wonderful service can be found. I give this place 2 stars solely for the drinks."

"This used to be our favourite Indian anywhere but unfortunately during our last visit (we haven’t been for a couple of years) we found it was just average. The food was absolutely fine but not as good as it used to be and the soft drinks tasted funny. Staff also didn’t seem as friendly as during previous visits. Shame as for the amount we paid we won’t be rushing back."

"Firstly the food was quite nice and the place in general was nice. We sat inside as no space outside. The food was such a long wait which was not ideal with children. I would advice to sit outside only with children as then they could have been distracted with the playarea. I was surprised at the lack of staff on for a lunchtime, especially during the school holidays and on a nice day. Considering it was lunchtime when we turned up, there were no menus on the tables. I had to get in line of a queue of 6 people before me just to ask for a menu. The bar staff was on his own, but was also very slow. We then had a 40 minute wait which it does state on the menu is the norm. This did surprise me as most places state a 25 minute wait tops. I appreciate it was busy, but again the wait could have been avoided with a lot more staff on. It just wasn't enough for such a large place in the middle of the summer holidays."
