The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. We sat outside in a lovely courtyard. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great new menu, delicious food. Busy even on weeknights, give this place a nice gentle buzz. Most of the venue is given over to dining, with a small area for drinks.

The fish soup and cheese souffle were amazing, I rate it a 10 out of 10! The Sunday roast beef was also delicious, although the beef was cut in a way that was too flowery. The potatoes were great and the vegetables were okay, but the starter was magnificent. View menu

What they lack in portion size is more than made up for by the size of the bill. And what the hell is meant by their claim to be 'LGBTQ+ friendly '? What does it mean exactly? Another company going silly woke... For goodness sake, you 're just a pub, not the United Nations.

This is the second time we have had a family reunion at this pub (6 senior citizens). We all enjoyed the food I had trout and almonds lovely! The service was good and the staff very friendly. The pub is in Thame which is a lovely place with loads of very old buildings in the high street. We had a lovely day and in the famous phrase we will be back!

Always excellent food and service. Staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Food is very good quality and nicely presented. The soufflés are a must (both cheese and pistachio). I had the smoked pork recently, which was delicious. Will be going back soon! Hello we spent time visiting a very dear friend who lives within walking distance of the black horse .she had been there lots of times so it was on her recommendation.l am so pleased that she recommended this establishment. What a jewel of a restaurant! The menu catered for my vegan diet and my partners love of sea food, with all dishes presented perfectly and tasting delicious. The service team were so friendly and warm. A true 5* experience, will definitely be re-booking. We enjoyed a Sunday roast beef and chicken, maple ham, confit chicken and apricot terrine, and a cheese soufflé. For dessert, we had Madagascar vanilla crème brûlée and pistachio soufflé. The food was outstanding and the presentation was fantastic, earning the chef a perfect 10. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very friendly. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy delicious food in a welcoming environment, just be prepared for large portions.
