"I discovered this restaurant on PitchUp, and to be honest, the photos didn't do it justice. I arrived early on Friday and was pleasantly greeted by H, the owner. He was a helpful and pleasant guy. I also met Lou, his partner, who was very pleasant as well. The pub itself is beautiful, a lovely old traditional country pub. I came camping for the weekend and the showers and toilets were very clean and well presented. The atmosphere was lovely. I would recommend visiting and seeing for yourself. Thank you, H and Lou."

Very friendly and helpful. Main meal well presented and tasty. We visited 3 times on our stay and would definitely go back

We had Sunday lunch as we're staying at their campsite. The food was amazing. Staff are friendly and helpful will definitely be going back.

Noted the Inn when I booked a holiday in Longtown and pleased we got to go. Booked relatively late in the day but they were able to oblige. Had a very good meal, Crab Linguine, Beef Burger and rump steak and salad with lovely chips. Very good desert of white peach and raspberry cheesecake too. View menu

Very disappointing, used to be a great pub with great food but sadly no longer. Very below average food, unkempt and dirty surroundings (especially the outside patio area). The bar unfortunately now has large ugly speakers with what looks like a karaoke function and plays inappropriate pop music.

We have camped here several times as well as using the yurt. We have lovely memories of food and service so decided to call in after a visit to Hay to show my daughter. The blond female bartender was so rude, abrupt and unwelcoming that I didn’t buy a drink. We all observed her abruptness and decided not to stay for food.

Hit and Miss. Shame, the pub and place is magical, but ownership and staff are clearly changing. One day, the best steak truffle chips with attentive enthusiastic pleasant staff. One of the best restaurant experiences i 've had. Next day, sorry we 're not serving food, because our fryer isn 't working . The odd thing was that they were continuing to serve food, puddings and allsorts to customers. Weirdest restaruant experience I 've ever had. View menu

I have been eaten Sunday roast in many great pubs , this was probable in a par with bad school food in fact worse . The roast potatoes where I am sure from the freezer and undercooked not at all crispy . What a shame as cooking a good roast isn't rocket sicence and when this area can produce such amazing local produce. A definite NO from me , a waste of money very disappointed. Wish id of cooked at home and not been charged for this terrible meal.

We went for lunch on Sunday and were disappointed to find that there was no menu, giving us no choice in our meal selection. Unfortunately, the food was subpar and reminiscent of a poor school dinner. Additionally, we were greeted with loud music and an overly friendly hostess. We had visited this pub years ago and had a pleasant experience, but it seems that it has since changed ownership. We won't be returning in the future, which is a shame as it is a lovely pub in a beautiful area.

"Entering the stablishment was fine got told to sit anywhere.. after sitting for over 20 minutes in an empty restaurant, I personally had to approach the staff member to come and take my order… drinks came swiftly food not far afterwards.. the quality of food burger was just below average…. Ordered the bbq wings which are battered!. The battered wings where not fully cooked/ barely cooked then lathered (bbq sauce) and served waited awhile as we didn’t get any cutlery or napkins seeing as it was a burger… personally has to go and receive a hand fully of napkin’s from I’m assuming another member of staff…not once did anyone come and check until I acknowledged of other work suttlely that no body had one and ask how the meal went.. gave the server the food and she had left one culprit wings behind… the view to the kitchen was clear leaving the door open.. I seen sous chef and other chef brush off the stituation!. So I carried over the remaining wing still tact For them to examine… Borge the sous chef also supporting chef both of thier mouths dropped and walked away with their heads face sing down… I was greeted with either a manager/assistant or supervisor she didn’t announce who she was.. I got told the wings have been compt what more do you want…. I wish I expressed a perfectly cooked patty.. abhtger byn to fit the over cooked patty… oh yeah not to be served raw batter for the bqq wings!. Can still taste the raw flour now an hour later… if anyone wants picture or updates please message me on [hidden email]"
