"Called in to this beautiful country pub on spec hoping for a light lunch, mid way through a woodland walk with our dog Barney, and received a warm and friendly welcome. We were very luck that a table for two was available and we were served the most gorgeous soup from a spectacularly tempting menu. The absolutely stars of the meal though were the bread rolls home made, stuffed with olives, sun-dried tomatoes, completely delicious with home made butter. We will be back, and with a reservation next time."

"I just had the best Sunday lunch I've had in many years. We often try out various local restaurants and pubs, as well as Michelin-star establishments, but this one takes the top spot. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and friendly family atmosphere, and the staff were exceptionally attentive, making the experience truly special. The beer was great, and the desserts were delicious—although I had to make an effort to find room for them after filling my plate with so many fresh and tasty vegetables and roast potatoes. I'm really glad I managed to squeeze in dessert, as I've never had cauliflower cheese quite like this before. The gravy was also unique, and I would love to get my hands on that family recipe. Overall, it's a fantastic place to dine, and I can't wait to return. Thank you to the staff for a lovely afternoon!"

"Having spent the night in this newly refurbished hotel and then having lunch the next day, I can say I am extremely impressed. The bedrooms are gorgeous, and the beds so comfortable! As for the food, it was exquisite we had the burrata and heritage tomato salad, chargrilled asparagus with polenta and the hand cut chips (some of the best chips ever). It all came out in a timely manner, the correct temperature and the staff were very friendly. And the bar area is nice and cosy with a great selection of drinks on offer!"

"we booked here for the first time on Sunday lunch. this beautiful old pub sits in a really fantastic village location. opposite the village green and next to an old church. there are some small grid window houses nested around the entire surface. we were greeted very warmly by the dame owners and sat before the fire. Unfortunately, soon afterwards a quite loud family arrived and sat next to us. She noticed our inconvenience and she invited us to move tables and we were shown in the beautiful dining room on the top floor where we enjoyed the most delicious Sunday roast I remember. friendly service. warm atmosphere and excellent value for money. I am looking forward to returning with my family and friends."
