"If I move to Scotland...I blame the Forth Inn! Where to begin!?!?! They pride themselves on winning Dog Friendly Pub of the Year! My people! All Scottish beers ON TAP! The food, the food! Wow! The lentil soup was the most flavorful I've ever had, warms the belly and fed my soul! The salmon and prawns how did they do it! I wanted to lick the plate! Tip of the hat to the chef! On to the Inn... Located in the heart of Aberfoyle. Amazingly friendly people and staff. The rooms are just lovely, cozy, clean, warm. They are updated and the beds are comfy, fresh linens. There's even a beautiful communal library/coffee room with elegant woodworking. The function room behind the bar is something to peek at if you get a chance! The building is steeped in history! I mean if you are in Aberfoyle and don't visit the Forth Inn, you haven't been to Aberfoyle!"

Only called in for a quick drink. Nice pint of Belhaven best. £7.85 for a pint and a half bit pricey.

We ate dinner twice at the restaurant while on holiday in Aberfoyle. The salmon, chicken and haggis, and steak and ale pie were all very good. Good selection of drinks. Service: 4 Location: 5

Really friendly staff and the food was awesome. Loved the balcony to our room but the room was a little tired. Not much pressure to the shower. However, it was clean. Great location. Rooms: 3 Service: 5 Location: 5

The room felt outdated, the bathroom was so so. It was clean, but just old. The pub was good. I had an excellent dinner and also a great breakfast. Definitely good value for the money you pay. Rooms: 3 Service: 4 Location: 3 View menu

Great wee pub for lunch. Dog friendly, which is great and the food was very nice too. The staff were lovely, and the service was quick. Couldn't recommend it more. If you're in the area, then The Forth Inn is definitely worth a visit. Food drinks: The food was very tasty and all the pub classics you'd expect, such as burgers, steak pie, fish and chips, and macaroni cheese.

I popped in for some lunch but my timing was a little off, so I had to settle for a shot of whisky while I chatted with a member of staff. I liked the display of whisky bottles and chose a Glengoyne 12 y.o. malt. There was a bottle of Deanston's. I had once visited both distilleries on the same day. It was a shame that several places down the river side of the high street were shut because they had been flooded. Walkability: If you know the area and are up to the walk, there is a path from the car park (can be seen across the high street) through to the back of The Rob Roy Hotel, which is nearly a mile away. It also depends on your available time in Aberfoyle. Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Q...

"I went to The Fairie Tree for Mother’s Day after booking a table four weeks in advance. We were seated quickly and our drink and food orders were taken promptly. The menu offered basic pub grub, nothing fancy or a la carte. My three teenagers ordered haddock and chips, while I opted for the chicken and leek dish. A large party of 8 was seated nearby and their starters arrived quickly. However, we had been waiting for 20 minutes since ordering our food. After waiting for 50 minutes to an hour, I finally had to flag down a waitress to inquire about our food. She discovered that our order had not gone through to the chef due to a computer error, without offering an apology. Our food eventually arrived after another 20 minutes, which was decent but nothing special. When my son wanted dessert, it took another 10-15 minutes to get someone's attention. He ordered sticky toffee pudding, which again took 30 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was not busy. We were about to give up on the dessert when the chef informed the waitress it was ready. There was no apology for the delay. When we asked for the bill, we didn't receive any sort of reduction for the poor service. The staff did not seem interested in addressing our concerns, and overall the service was slow and unfriendly. The food was overpriced and mediocre. I do not plan on returning as the experience was disappointing."
