I've been here a couple of times now, but the first time whilst the food was excellent, the service was so slow I thought we were approaching a black hole.

Bar staff very knowledgeable professional. Waiting staff very polite and approachable. Food most delectable amd cooked to perfection. Only small negative of a long wait for starters on a quiet night, the rest of the courses were appropriately timed and well received. Will definitely visit again.

Accomodation very good, clean and tidy. Food was excellent, well thought out taste and presentation. A good amount of various flavours, but not enough to overcomplicate the plate. Also enough food not to leave hungry. Service was fantastic even though it was my first visit I left feeling like I was a regular guest. A well oiled operation that makes you feel at home very quickly. Well done! Defiantly requires a return visit.

at the beginning I decided to welsh rarebit on slowly cooked ham hockey, with a soot, lion tooth and caper salat, senf cream and grilled sourdough. not to put too fine point on it, this was absolutely divine, and the Rarebit topping (that was one of the best games of the plate I tried) on the tasty, crumby ham was inspired! the cream was served in a light, fluffy snake and the salat gave a beautiful extra texture to the dish. personally I didn't need the sourded with it, but I had a bite and it was good!

We went to the Hardwick on a Sunday to meet friends we hadn't seen in a while. In total we had 7 adults and 4 children. They put us in the far room which was very busy when we arrived. The staff were very helpful. The only minor thing I would say is they were quite slow getting drinks. One of the kids didn't want to eat until they had their drink, and it took nearly 20 minutes to come. The food was alright. I had the pork for starter. And the pork roast for main. Then finished with the lemon crunch. Nice venue, worth a try if you are in the area.
