Love the ambience and decor here and the tables are well spaced out. Great food (had the steak) and the service was impeccable and attentive. Best food we have had for some time.

Bar staff very knowledgeable professional. Waiting staff very polite and approachable. Food most delectable amd cooked to perfection. Only small negative of a long wait for starters on a quiet night, the rest of the courses were appropriately timed and well received. Will definitely visit again.

The food was absolutely delicious. The only disappointing thing was that as we arrived, the barman couldn't find our booking and tried to seat us in the bar, even though there were multiple tables free in the restaurant. Following this, it was half an hour before we were served our drinks. Having said that, the food and cocktails were faultless.

at the beginning I decided to welsh rarebit on slowly cooked ham hockey, with a soot, lion tooth and caper salat, senf cream and grilled sourdough. not to put too fine point on it, this was absolutely divine, and the Rarebit topping (that was one of the best games of the plate I tried) on the tasty, crumby ham was inspired! the cream was served in a light, fluffy snake and the salat gave a beautiful extra texture to the dish. personally I didn't need the sourded with it, but I had a bite and it was good!

We went to the Hardwick on a Sunday to meet friends we hadn't seen in a while. In total we had 7 adults and 4 children. They put us in the far room which was very busy when we arrived. The staff were very helpful. The only minor thing I would say is they were quite slow getting drinks. One of the kids didn't want to eat until they had their drink, and it took nearly 20 minutes to come. The food was alright. I had the pork for starter. And the pork roast for main. Then finished with the lemon crunch. Nice venue, worth a try if you are in the area.

"Knowing that my family and I would be in Abergavenny around lunchtime prior to a walk up Sugar Loaf, I took the rare step of being prepared by looking up a tea shop that served cream teas with clotted cream (any civilised person would of course faint into their jam at the sight of whipped! and didn't close at 2pm (as if everyone's appetite sticks to a schedule . Meeting those requirements alone would have been enough to get a good review, but I was genuinely delighted by The Little Treat. From the moment we walked in, our every need was met. We thought we'd have trouble finding a table as the only one remaining was for 2 people (there were 4 of us , but the lovely gentleman behind the counter asked if we'd like that table and then immediately brought 2 extra chairs over and ensured that we were comfortably sat with menus ordering was prompt and correct. His colleague delivered our food and, when it became clear that there would be a slight delay in my daughter's order, brought over complimentary drinks. The food was excellent neither pretentious nor poor quality. Both our hosts were unfailingly polite, but sincerely so, and genuinely warm. The service alone was worthy of note if all catering establishments were like this then the world would be a happier place but the food left us all satisfied as well. I really look forward to next time we're in Abergavenny so we can visit again."
