"A decent pub with decent pub food... It has vegan options as part of its main menu including the chef special tofu katsu curry which was not good. The rice tasted microwaved and was dry as a bone. The sauce lacked flavour and was barely there. The breaded tofu was more bread than tofu and didn 't taste fresh. If you 're willing to make a meal out of 'accidentally vegan ' starters and sides (soup, pakoras and fries), you 're on to a winner."

Food was very good although not much choice on the menu. Service not amazing, our table seemed to be ignored most of the evening. Bar staff very helpful

Always enjoyed eating here in the dog friendly restaurant. I was disappointed on this visit to be seated in the sports bar section with no one else in and no atmosphere...lesson learnt for when I book again, I will make sure I check what area we'll be placed in. Menu is also getting smaller with not so many options however still nice tasty food.

We visited based on other happy cow reviews while on holiday and weren't disappointed. It was a Sunday menu so not as many options to choose from but still a couple of starters, either vegan root veg pie or moving mountains burger and then a dark choc and hazelnut tart dessert with vg ice cream. Staff were very friendly and helpful, lovely surroundings and food was excellent. View menu

we visited on the basis of other happy cheer reviews during the holiday and were not disappointed. it was a Sunday menu, so not so many options to choose, but still a few starters, either vegan root veg pipe or moving mountain burger and then a dark choc and hazelnut tar dessert with Vg ice. the coworkers were very friendly and helpful, beautiful environment and eating was excellent.

a decent pub with decent pub food. it has vegan options as part of its main menu, including the chef special tofu katsu curry that was not good. the reis tasted microshaft and was dry as a bone. the soße lacked taste and was hardly there. the baked tofu was more brot than tofu and did not taste fresh. when they are ready to make a meal from 'unusually vegan' and since suppene, pakoras and pommes, they are on a winner.

"we enjoyed another very pleasant dinner at the Dog’ in pentrich recently. it is a very civilized but relaxed escaping area, and the type of place where people are miles for, for the culinary experience traveling and with good ground. eating is good. the dining room is spacious, contemporary and beautifully furnished with a relaxed ambiente. also the adjacent bar area is very cozy and cozy. we were warmly welcomed and immediately shown on our table. the service was attentive and pleasant, without being overlaid or intrusive. our meals were very pleasant and we enjoyed the selection of things we had (start, head and dessert). However, it seemed to be some unconsistencies with a portion size. with the appetizers the leek and the potato portion was very small a piece laek about two centimeters long filled with cheese and in a sea of sauce to convey the grasp of “more”. the crispy szechuan cauliflower and aubergine, on the other hand, contained large parts of the two components of the teller. similar to the net, the green thai chicken contained three very large portions of huh in different shapes: a large chicken breast as the main component of the Thai chicken shell, accompanied by a huge serving of shredded chicken in rice, and a huge Bao beer filled with a large piece of baked chicken. while the various components were delicious, it was just chicken overload, almost like three main dishes as one, and much too much. the same applies to the puddings we have chosen. the dog inn trifle was a huge bowl with lemon-rossel sponge, with white chocolate-creuzard, and celestial gel and sorbet. the yorkshire rhubarb cheesecake, on the other hand, was a very small roll of cheesecake with a puppy game of rhubarb sorbet and a few pieces of poached rhubarb. our meals were certainly delicious, and we enjoyed them. the hanger steak was cooked nicely after a discussion about it; it was clearly stated on the menu that the hanger steak was ‘Served ‘Pink or well Done’, but we were informed that it could not be ordered well. which condition is then on the menu? the dog is worth looking. it is in the beautiful and historical village pentrich, on the b1016 between the towns ripley and alfreton in derbyshire. we're coming back."
