"Went for a sunday carvery at 2pm. You get a max of 1.5hr for your table booking, and there was a que throughout for the carvery. Choice of 3 plate sizes available small 9.99 regular 11.99 or premium 12.99. We pre booked a table, knowing from past experience they are always really busy for sunday lunch. Lovely helpful staff on hand for anything you need. They are really assertive and all have a smile on their faces, which is always good to see. Choice of beef, pork, or gammon, or a selection of 2 different homemade pies if you prefer. We all had regular size carvery, which was a good plate full. The meat was delicious with a generous portion served, the roast potatoes and parsnips were not so good, tasted like ready made frozen ones, the parsnips were hard in the middle, and roast potatoes were tasteless. The vegetables were cooked nicely. Gravy was a little too watery. Overall though it's a nice warm and friendly atmosphere with good staff. Booking was for 4 adults, and the total bill came to just short of £60 for 4 regular carvery's, 1 pint of larger and 3 pints of diet coke."

When we arrived, the premises looked a bit shabby so I was dubious but we received a warm welcome and it was fairly busy- a good sign. There was a good choice of food on the menu( except for vegetarians) and the carvery was excellent. It was incredibly good value for money and in the end, we all enjoyed a delicious, home cooked lunch! Price per person: £10–20

The food at this restaurant was not the best I have ever had, but I would consider dining there again if someone else was footing the bill. However, the atmosphere may not be ideal for individuals with vision impairment, as the restaurant has a few steps and is dimly lit. The staff, on the other hand, were very pleasant and polite, checking in on the meal and ensuring everything was going well. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there are limitations inside due to steps. The average price per person is £50–60.

I was extremely let down by the reservation process. There was no option to make a reservation on their website, so I reached out via Facebook on November 13th to book a table for November 19th. I was assured that a table for 5 was reserved for us. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the message had not been relayed and we could only have a table for one hour or none at all. This was meant to be a belated birthday celebration for my father, and we had planned on enjoying starters, mains, and desserts, so one hour was simply not enough time.

"The welcome we received was pleasant, although not very personal, and our details were not checked, which was surprising considering how difficult it was to secure a reservation. The restaurant is not licensed, so guests are welcome to bring their own drinks. My husband and I brought two bottles of champagne, but we were not offered an ice bucket and were given standard wine glasses instead of flutes. The food was served promptly, starting with an amuse bouche of butternut squash veloute with a creamy accompaniment served in egg boxes. The chef explained the dish himself, and it was delicious. The second course, an aged rice dish reminiscent of a soupy risotto flavored with parmesan and espresso, was my least favorite. I found it poorly presented and the coffee flavor didn't come through well. The third course, a beautifully cooked lamb cutlet finished on a barbecue outside, was accompanied by flavorful lentils. However, the broccoli that came with it was plain and could have used some additional flavor. The dish was not explained to us. The fourth dish, which I initially thought was eel, turned out to be smoked eel and was served with beetroot. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. We were served two desserts: a warm chocolate foam with orange sorbet and a deconstructed rhubarb custard with pink meringue pieces, both of which were delicious. The bill was not presented to us, so we followed the lead of other guests who left cash on the table as they left. My husband had a nice chat with the chef, and I joined in after a visit to the restroom. The chef was very knowledgeable and skilled with flavors. Overall, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of personality in presenting and explaining each dish. The experience felt somewhat impersonal and lacked interest. I believe guest interaction is crucial, so my tip would be for the restaurant to take the time to engage with guests, even if it means spending less time in the kitchen. I did not give a perfect score due to the presentation and slightly underwhelming flavors in some dishes. I believe that in fine dining, every element of the dish should be bursting with flavor. Despite this, we had an enjoyable evening and would return if we are able to secure a reservation."
