Lovely little spot, great food and a diamond of a barman good pool table and always a few lovely dogs hanging about to brighten up ya visit! Highly recommend if I’m the area

Warm and friendly greeting. Spacious tables with good lighting. Varied menu but we both went for traditional fish and chips! Beautifully cooked, yummy! Very Covid aware, go and enjoy your visit with confidence!

I really enjoyed my sparkling curry at this restaurant. Although they had some minor issues, the owner was very helpful in trying to fix them. The food was full of flavor and I can't wait to order another one. This restaurant is top-class. View menu

The restaurant is pretty good, especially the broth. However, when we visited on a Saturday evening, we were surprised to find it nearly empty when it could have been busier. It's a shame that it doesn't seem to be well-supported by locals. Hopefully, it doesn't affect the success of the restaurant.

There was nothing rusty about the Food, the Atmosphere or the Company at The Rusty Axe. This was a first class family experience, all was of the highest standard. I have little doubt that Stembridge has rediscovered an absolute gem of an oasis in the...middle of Somerset that is more than just a local pub. Definitely one for the future, a place to visit again and again.

great food and exceptional service. we ordered the eating of sparkles at the rusty axe for the second time since the opening and again we could not mistake it. the food was full of taste and good portion sizes. the service we received at collecting the food was not the second. we were told it would be 20 minutes, and it was exactly prepared to spend time fresh and hot! we even have a Valentine's Day cupcake to go with our meal. can not wait to order from them again View menu

My niece and I booked for last evening. It was busy when we arrived but we were welcomed and served quickly at the bar and allowed to choose a two-person table. The charming Nicky took our order quite soon and twice told us how...long it was going to be, which wasn't that long. My niece chose the pie of the day chicken and leek and I chose the tenderloin of pork with stir-fried veg and French fries. The food was delicious, well-cooked, hot and tasty. We then shared their Two Spoons pudding consisting of lemon torte, banoffee pie and Eton mess on one long plate again really just the job All was reasonably priced and we felt welcome. We'll definitely recommend to friends and be back soon.

The out of rating MUST be for the previous ownership. We stopped in for a beer on a long walk and the ales were all off, I can forgive a one off but the barman even asked me to taste them all before...buying because they had had a lot of complaints, they were all off, he then asked me what I thought the problem was, pipes aren't cleaned and the barells are poorly kept was my answer. The Rusty Axe is now an Indian restaurant masquerading as a pub, they would be better off going full Indian restaurant and dropping all the real ales because they clearly have no idea how to keep them. We ordered a bottled beer and left, making the minute walk to the Wyndham Arms (which was amazing by the way)

Often come to the rusty with either just my partner or our family we have together, very welcoming with lots of happy and friendly faces! We see Mark who runs the pub as one of our friends now and the same to Sean and Nicky!...We feel we can allow our young child play in their child safe garden in the sandpit and toys that they have provided for everyone without worrying about her getting hurt. Definitely one of my favourite local pubs around here! Great atmosphere on a Friday with their chase the joker game, often Putting on great live music and providing amazing bbq food, cannot wait for them to open up for more food options in the future!
