"What a fantastic Sunday roast. I went with my family as we all love a roast but this was so much more. Firstly, we were greeted with a wonderful welcome from the staff. We then ordered our choice of roast which was beef or chicken and since I couldn't make up my mind what to have we were offered to have both, which we did and it was cooked beautifully, in addition the vegetables were many which consisted of: cabbage, swede, spinach, carrots, cauliflower, roasted parsnips and roast potatoes with the best gravy and as a lovely surprise, crispy roasted parsnip shavings on top of a plump Yorkshire pudding absolutely divine, best roast we have had in years and would highly recommend."

It was a hectic day, but I found solace in the charming pub garden. The pub was spotless and offered a great selection of ale on tap.

Friendly and polite, peaceful, and a place to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the area. Untouched, undisturbed natural habitat to enjoy. View menu

Empty pub which should have warned us. Flat cloudy Canterbury ale , so bad we abandoned it and tried adman’s ghost ship. Equally flat, cloudy, watery. Both undrinkable. £9 wasted. Never had such poor beer so consistently.

This charming pub is located near Conyer Creek and a pleasant footpath for a country stroll. While the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the food is on the pricier side and lacking in quality. My meal was served cold with a lump of potato that was inedible. Overall, it's a nice spot for a quiet drink and a leisurely walk. View menu

We stumbled upon a lovely pub as we were passing through the area during a weekend hike. The prices were reasonable, but the atmosphere stood out as its best feature. We visited just before Halloween, hence the festive photos. We didn't stay for a meal and unfortunately, the WiFi password was not working, which was disappointing. The staff seemed aware of the issue, so hopefully they can address it to improve customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately the day we went for lunch there was only one woman as front of house/ staff and she was having to do everything. Serve drinks; take orders for food. Cook the food, ond and then serve the food. She did it with a friendly demeanour and tried to please everyone. She spent her time apologise for keeping people waiting. When she was cooking it was left to us to explain she was single handed. Should have had a second to help.

"Having been to the Phoenix several times and I believe, this to be my second average review of the food and service, you 'd think they would have taken heed, but clearly not. Firstly, like most top end restaurants in London, they are reserving the right to charge for no shows £20 per head). But, what they are also doing, which is very unfair, is charging you for cancellations within 24 hours of the booking at £10 per head. If one or more of our friends had fallen ill over night it 's the flu season at the moment), they would have been were forced to go for an expensive average Sunday lunch, whilst spreading their germs to the other diners. It also poses the question, what would some do if you book a table less than 24 hours like we did) and then decide to cancel? The excuse that orders for food have already been placed doesn 't really hold water. The Sunday menu forces you to order a minimum of 2 courses at £34 per head. Some of the top London restaurants are charging less for far more opulent Sunday roasts e.g. the Jugged Hare at the Barbican). The Sunday lunch served was simply very average and not value for money. Finally, why are the desserts here, always consistently so bad? I ordered a baked cheesecake and got cream squirted on a piece of cake. When I asked what I had been served, I was told it was chef 's interpretation of a cheesecake. The menu clearly stated baked cheesecake. Not even in my wildest dreams can you interpret a baked cheesecake as a piece of cake with creamed squirted on it! This was promptly returned and replaced with a vile chocolate tart, with pastry so hard I couldn 't cut into it without the fear of smashing the plate it was served on. The chocolate was over salted and the chantilly cream served with it unsweetened. Save your money, go elsewhere."
