"Hadn't eaten here for years but wanted somewhere picturesque to take our friend who is over from the US. We were welcomed by a roaring fire and a warm welcome from the manager. We all chose 2 courses for £18. Mushrooms, whitebait, and chicken wings. Generous portions and very tasty. For mains, we had roast beef, pork, and Southern fried chicken burger. The presentation of the roasts was amazing. There was a huge amount of meat, good choice of veg, roast potatoes perfect, and the most lovely Yorkshire pudding. I can honestly say it was the nicest roast I've had in ages. Will definitely be back! Thank you."

Went especially for the pound of meat Steak Pie no longer on the menu I’m afraid. Instead there was a pale, stale, microwaved thing flopped on the plate. The first pint was equally stale despite costing close to £6 a pint and yet the second was lovely.

Called in for lunch with a group of friends after a nice walk along the canal. This was a first visit for all of us. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Food choice was good, meals arrived without delay and were enjoyed by all. Looking forward to future visits.
