"When we arrived, I went inside to confirm that we could bring our dogs. I was met by an incredibly rude server who asked if we had made a reservation and rolled his eyes when we said no, not realizing it was required. We opted to sit outside, as it was a beautiful day and would be more comfortable for the dogs. As I was tying up the dogs and getting the kids settled, the server impatiently asked if we wanted drinks. We requested a few minutes to get organized, but he sighed and walked away. When he returned, one of our dogs barked softly, and he harshly insisted we put them back in the car, which made us very uncomfortable. At that point, we decided to leave, as we no longer felt confident about enjoying our meal there. Thankfully, we found the Tayvallich Cafe down the road, where we had a delightful lunch served by friendly and attentive staff. I highly recommend skipping the Tayvallich Inn and heading to the cafe instead."

This is a hidden gem. Although it's a bit tricky to reach, the seafood is some of the best I've ever had. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £40-50. View menu

Food was good, use lots of local produce here. Lobster could have a bit more seasoning garlic butter, venison was overdone. Server didn’t know much about the menu, was also no cheese and biscuits. Overall ok. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2

This was my second visit, and contrary to the common struggle of a difficult second album, this restaurant did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, with incredibly fresh ingredients. The fish soup is what drew me back, and it was just as good as I remembered. It’s definitely worth the almost two-hour drive. The location is fantastic as well!

We had a wonderful meal and celebrated our victory in the Father’s Day competition! It was our first visit, and we will definitely recommend this restaurant to others! The local seafood was delicious, and our daughters couldn't get enough of the desserts – they were the best ever! They even had to try our desserts too. Thank you for a fantastic meal! We will definitely be coming back! View menu

The assistant manager was extremely rude. We had traveled all day to get to Tayvallich. We were thirsty and hungry. We went in the pub for a drink and food. The assistant manager was rude and un welcoming. The pub was busy, we weren’t welcomed and he kept asking us to move here move there, do this do that. We made it to a table and he said we had to move in 30 minutes. He never asked if we would like another drink or food. We felt un welcome. Because of his behavior we did not go back out following nights. The bartender and the woman serving were very friendly.

Travelled through beautiful scenic countryside to try this restaurant out. Arrived to be greeted by a very annoyed and rude foreign man perhaps from Europe. Saying angerily we should have booked and we were fortunate tonight to get a table, next time you come book first. The place was empty and throughout eating remained so. Went to the bar for a drink and rudely told you shouldn't come to bar wait for your server to come back. (By the way other people were ordering drinks at the bar with no problem) Our waitress would have been a while as she was away to wait on our food arriving. Really made a special outing ruined. We felt we were not wanted or good enough. We were dressed decently and ar...
