"We stayed overnight in the large, well maintained field in our campervan last night, a lovely rural pub with an outside pizza oven and deflated bouncy castle in the big garden, a mixture of locals and visitors like us on the bar, it was clean cosy and had lots of fun signs and accessories including a big jar of dog treats, which our two pups enjoyed, The food was greats starters and puddings around 5.50 mains from classic pub grub to the sea bream on mash i enjoyed, from 10 to 17 quid, well managed cellar with Wainrights and a mild on draft last night, we will be back.... frequently Vegetarian options: A great selection Kid-friendliness: Great play area"

A great place for food and real ales. The menu has a good selection of dishes at sensible prices. There are overnight spaces for campervans which are free if you're eating at the pub. Lots of good walking in the nearby Delamere Forest. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stumbled upon this pub during a day out and decided to pop in for lunch. Surprisingly, it was quite empty, which is baffling given how tasty the food was! We opted for the tapas, and every dish was delicious. The staff were really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. I would recommend this place based on my visit. View menu

Staff was amazing but the vegan food was really bad We had the tofu fish and chips and it was just deep fried fofu with tasteless batter. I'm very disappointed by the meal but I'm hopeful they take my feedback positively and put some effort into a better vegan option maybe something easy like Dhal or even a pasta dish.. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2

"I booked a table for 2 really last minute on a busy December night, piccolio’s manger cosimo took the booking, he was so friendly and helpful that we really needed after a hard work in the cold winter weather! we went in and the restaurants that were breathtaking have woken us! the decor is stylish and above all it was so warm and cozy what we needed, we were greeted with smiles all around by every worker and was immediately taken on our table, without waiting time what ever! we were so swollen! Shortly after we sat, we tamara welcomed them beautiful, well presented and extremely polite. we thought up the menu, while tamara served us the most delicious Rosè Prosecco and took our orders. it was a hard choice, as we wanted to order one of all, the menu choices sound exquisite! so much choice and catering for all food requirements. my own and my friend decided to go for the spaghetti frutti di mare, which was absolutely inconceivable! muddle, mush and calamari topped with a huge garlic king prawn! it didn't take long until there were two empty teller and full bell! we stayed and talked together about the life and there was no hurry to move us from table to tamara has checked us we were so glad to have chosen piccolino chester for our girly dinner date and just wanted to say a massive thank you to cosimo, tamara and the piccolino team. I can't wait to come back to another fantastic evening."
