"stay during the going of the south downs way and found this pub to be underoccupied, with tired, drab rooms and eating over expensive. the bedroom was poky, with a terrible shower room, old carpets and thin walls. the check-in at the arrival was with a...reliable young man who needs a short course in customer service. the restaurant was full, but with only two employees were pushed to even take orders. the poor waitress was actually blown between the tables. do not accept bookings if they cannot deliver in the service. eating was reasonable, but expensive. a cooked breakfast was not part of the overnight price and cost extra."

Went for a walk in the area and then had Sunday Lunch here. Staff were very friendly and food delicious. At times service was a little slow, but not a problem as we were happily chatting.

Met friends here as it was half way for each of us. The pub is located in a very quaint village and it has lots of character. The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent- will definitely go back !

visited to lunch during the going of the south downs. the staff was very friendly and served us with eating and drinking on good wise. the menu was diverse and interesting, it was difficult to decide what to choose! at the end I took the cod dog, it was a great choice.

for a few nights stayed here and the staff was extremely polite. However, the walls in the bedrooms were a little thin, so here everything from the room next door (I even mean the snoring breakfast choice was good and generous, but. additional fee made for English breakfast, which is a scandal given the price of the room.

Visited again for lunch that remained of a high standard. Landlord too has the gift too of reaching out to several customers at the same time so making for a good atmosphere. A wood burning stove is an attractive feature. Parking is easy a...quiet village not distorted by yellow lines! Village’s proximity to Winchester prompted us to book for a 2 night stay at Ye Old George next weekend. Pub’s capacity is 5 en-suite rooms on the 1st floor,

I visited with my son for Sunday lunch at 2pm. Sadly the service was poor and we had to get up and find a server three times for various items and needs. Once seated no staff came back for quite a while. When food was...served no check back and the potatoes in the roast were cold. The food was nice but spoilt by the lack of care sadly. Lovely village but won’t be rushing back anytime. I would have asked to speak to someone but there were no staff to find !

I visited my son at 2 o'clock. Unfortunately, the service was bad and we had to get up and find a server three times for different elements and needs. once sat no personal came back for a past. when the food was served, there was no retrospect and the potatoes in the roast were cold. eating was nice, but pampered by the lack of carefree sad. beautiful village, but will not rush again at any time. I should have talked to someone, but there were no employees who should find it!
