"We were staying just along the road at Villa Hugel for 9 nights. Ate in the Hotel three times and that was superb but discovered this Brauhaus which is actually called Brahaus Zum Alten, in which the food, the facilities, the staff are all fantastic. We went a few times, can highly recommend the flammkuchen with chorizo, all of the Schnitzels and the Bratkartoffeln. The Weiss Beer is excellent and they have a great selection of very reasonably priced local wines. It has a beer garden outside and there is a separate smoking area inside that's effectively sealed off from everyone else. Nice building filled with bits and pieces of old brewery equipment. Staff very helpful, if your german is not up to translating the somewhat extensive menu. If you are in Villa Hugel its just along the road to the right, three hundred metres at the most. Large Brauhaus and every time we were in very busy with locals. Amazing price in my opinion for the quality of the food and drink."
