"We have been coming to Llangollen for a few years now and this is the only cafe/ bistro we go to while here! We have been staying in a nearby B&B this week and have been going to The Deeside for cream teas, and dinner every day this week! The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. The staff have been friendly chatty and helpful. There is a large selection of food and drinks available and the staff are always happy to suggest recommendations. This place is dog friendly, with the staff sitting you appropriately to keep some distance between the dogs so everyone can enjoy the atmosphere. Everything is reasonably priced and great value for money."

The food and service was very nice there are two let downs to this place one is we didn’t have cash so had to go looking for cash machine and secondly the toilets. But we would return for the food .

Food was very good. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive but ...didnt keep asking if everything was ok which is a nice change. Well priced and straight forward menu. We had a window seat overlooking the River Dee. Spectacular view.

The food here was very very good. Very large portions. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. My husband had gammon and I had the burger with bacon and cheese. It said it was a six ounce burger but it was bigger I am sure. Good prices but some people may not be aware it is cash only. View menu

This was a more than satisfactory visit overall and the food was fine but I was surprised to find that it was cash only, which caused me to have to go out and find a cashpoint before I could pay. This seems strange in 2023 and I hope it will be reviewed. But an enjoyable meal, nevertheless.

Had trip on railway and headed into town to find somewhere for lunch. Deeside cafe was busy but had space so after a quick look at the extensive menu thought would give it a try. Seated and served very quickly. Husband had chicken with garlic mushroom and cheese. I had the slow cooked lamb. Both delicious meals and worth the price. Would definitely return. Please be aware cash only but well signed so not really any problem.

Recently visited this lovely cafe and enjoyed a fantastic lunch. The staff were really accommodating as we had a pushchair with us; they found a suitable table as it was quite busy, brought over a high chair whilst I sorted out my baby and then moved the pushchair away for us whilst we ate. The food itself was delicious, I had a minted lamb baguette and staff were so helpful when I asked about allergens. Beautiful views and reasonably priced too. We would’ve definitely come back again if we’d been in Llangollen for longer! View menu

Delightful setting so close to the River Dee. Clean with a calm atmosphere. The food was delicious, We went for breakfast, had full English which was hot and tasty so good that we went back in the evening. I had gammon steak which was huge, delicious and well cooked. My husband had tagliatelle which was plentiful and delicious. The blackcurrant cheesecake finished the meal off wonderfully, husband had carrot cake which was gorgeous with ice cream. Lovely coffee, very attentive staff, polite and friendly- definitely recommend this bistro

Looked appealing from the outside with a large menu plus specials. Basic interior with bench type seating. Food arrived quickly: Beef Pie Chicken burger which was edible but nothing special. Bottled beer and choice of wines available. As we were leaving I noticed stacked piles of dirty food plates awaiting return to kitchen which is possibly downstairs ? . Offered debit card to pay but was told cash only. There are no signs anywhere nor were we told this when we ordered. When I queried why there was no contactless sales I was told ask the owner . Staff did not seem very happy nor engaging. I wouldn 't recommend.

"Went for afternoon tea with my wife, using an 'experience ' voucher from a well known site, costing £35.99 absolute disaster! The description said 'sit down in the sophisticated dining room and tuck into a section of finger sandwiches, tantalising cakes, pastries, macarons and scones with clotted cream and jam. You won 't want this afternoon to end! ' Trust me, we could not get out of their quick enough and go and find somewhere to get something to eat. The sophisticated dining room was a large, cold room with only a couple of other diners, sticky wooden tables, with no table cloths, just a flimsy paper napkin and a knife and fork. We ordered a coffee and a tea, which came in the smallest teapot, I have ever seen. Later in the meal, when we asked for another drink, we were told that was extra and were charged another £5.70. The food was nothing like as described or pictured on the website. A sad looking selection of sandwiches four quarters each of thin sliced bread one containing a very small piece of processed ham, a second mashed up egg, third was some sort of fish, not sure if it was salmon or tuna; and finally some sort of green leaf with something wet on top it looked like the sandwich had been made days earlier and then sat upon! No pastries or macarons but the two scones with clotted cream and two little pots of jam were OK, however the remaining small cakes were dreadful, none of them were fresh there were two eclairs that were inedible, either the cream or chocolate was off and they were very dry; two little red velvet cakes, which again were dry and horrible; and finally two small pieces of carrot cake that were the least objectionable but again very dry. When we told the waitress the eclairs, she said she would tell the chef but no offer of an alternative. True, it was an unforgettable experience, but not in the way we had expected! We have had afternoon teas in top hotels, pubs, cafes and well known garden centres and nothing came close to being as bad as this meal. Needless to say we will never return and would strongly advise caution if anyone is thinking of going here."
