"A very warm open looking place people sitting outside having a few evening drinks, enter into the bar area and to the right, the dining area which is spacious. Great service from a friendly young lady. Lots to choose from on the menu. I had prawn with garlic and chilli to start was ok but didn't taste and chilli I must admit, and then I had chicken, bacon and avo salad. The chicken was char grilled by the looks of it, and sometimes was bitter tasting (a few burnt bits on it) and a bit dry from over cooking I found. My sister had a very delicious salmon and my hubby and brother in law had the steak pie, which was very filling and quite tasty they said. It's a pleasant place to pop in to have a pleasant evening offering sometimes live bands on certain evenings."

Co op is a lovely store and is better than tesco. Ridgewood has waited 10 years to have their own store in the community with the pub on site as well . Well done, co op

Good food at a very reasonable price, friendly busy staff, fast service, spacious inside and outside, excellent parking. We were pleasantly surprised when the waitress bought us some money with our meals when they had noticed that we had been accidentally overloaded! I think that's extraordinary honesty, thank you.

We had a party of 9 for Sunday roast. The food was excellent great roast potatoes crispy on the outside fluffy in the middle, beautifully cooked fresh veg all cooked to order. Best Sunday roast for a very long time . Great service took a little time to arrive but we'll worth waiting. Well done excellent great vibe and very enjoyable. Thank you! Well done!

Salmon was perfect; 2 of our party said it was the best salmon dish they'd had. Hub said the fish finger wrap was very good. I had mushrooms eggs and chips which were a expected. Lovely waitress with a ready smile is always a good sign. I would have awarded 5 stars but I thought the wait for food was overlong considering there were few customers. Otherwise though, it was a delightful meal with friends and a good atmosphere.

It's extremely rare for me to give 5 stars to a pub so I can assure you this place is worth a visit! I've got a rapeseed allergy and most pubs will swerve me when they hear that but the staff here couldn't do enough for me! The food was amazing and the staff couldn't be more friendly. Even recommending places to go after we ate. Special thanks go to Ruby and chef Gayton and Nat for being amazing! Thank you we will definitely be back!

Nice place for a good beer from local breweries such as Gun and Harvey's and good quality reasonably priced food. The fish and chips is great. However you may want to sit inside if you're with children as if you want to sit in the outdoor space, then be prepared to be sitting amongst a lot of tables with people smoking which kind of ruins the experience if you are with small children or a baby or just don't like cigarette smoke. Other than that consideration, you'll have lovely experience and The Highlands

Came for lunch as a party of 10, easy to find, and easy parking as many spaces. A few family groups were also having lunch, and the establishment has a nice friendly feel. A range of menu options were ordered, 1 of our party is a vegetarian and had no problem finding menu options. The lunches and desserts were all great bar mine which arrived with a long hair resting on it, spotted as the plate was brought. The waitress was apologetic and another plate was brought about 10 minutes later. Dropped a star from my review for hair in the food, so only 3 stars.

We were a large group so we expected to have to wait for a bit. However it was an hour before receiving our first plate of food. We had 6 children with us so you can imagine how hungry they were getting. Ideally they could have bought the kids meals earlier. The food did taste great. The fish and better very tasty and fresh and the kids fish fingers were lovely. I would say though the portions were a bit on the small side and still felt a bit hungry when we'd finished. Overall ee had a nice time, we would cone again but hope the portions and timings were improved.

"Honestly...one of the best pub restaurants I have ever visited! We chose to eat here as it was recommended via Alistair Sawday, and it did not disappoint. The food, atmosphere, hygiene and service were all 5* when we visited last night. We sat inside, by candlelight, and ordered 2 starters (the Rye smoked mackerel with buttercream sauce and the heritage tomato salad and 2 mains (the beef burger with fries and the hake with toasted ciabatta and garden peas . It was truly exquisite! We both cleaned our plates (and we don't usually do that! . My only mild criticism is that I didn't realise the hake dish would include bacon lardons they certainly added to the flavour, but as an ethical pescatarian, this could have ruined the meal for me (I didn't allow it to, but 10 years ago when I was more strict it may have upset me . I may have simply missed this ingredient when reading the menu, and I didn't make the waiting staff aware of my dietary preferences, so I accept this was my fault and not theirs. It's just something for other pescatarians reading this review to be aware of. I have absolute confidence that they would prepare the hake dish without the bacon lardons if you asked. As for me....my boyfriend gleefully took them from my plate and demolished them himself! We also enjoyed a medium glass of wine each my boyfriend (who is very particular loved the tempranillo and I had their Italian pinot grigio. Our entire meal would have been less than £60, but with the current government incentive scheme to eat in, it came to less than £40!! We tipped generously as they truly deserved it. We will 100% be returning and can't advocate them enough."
