"We enjoyed an outstanding meal here yesterday evening. It was a set menu with a choice of 3 starters, 5 main courses and 3 desserts or cheeses. The menu on a blackboard was all in French and the waiter was unable to translate the fineries of the dishes, but our fellow diners helped us out which led to a very convivial occasion. The house Sangria which was recommended as an aperitif was superb, containing rum and Cointreau as well as the red wine. That was served with a complimentary rillette with croutes. My starter was cream of endives, with smoked duck breast and Roquefort ice-cream, which was stunningly presented. The flavours and textures contrasted well with one another, making it a delicious dish. My husband ordered the poached egg with cream of cucumber and smoked salmon. That too was tasty, but the flavours so subtle that they did not make the same impact as mine. Our main courses were lamb shanks with garlic and pepper sauce, and pork fillet with chorizo sauce, both were cooked to perfection and served with a gorgeous selection of vegetables. The service was excellent, the ambiance great and the food top notch. Highly recommended!"

"A great address. The reception is top and there the dishes are really delicious. The decor is very nice and very clean. I strongly recommend this place. Prices are more than correct and dishes are generous. We've had fun!"

"Excellent culinary experience in La Flora, and probably one of the best pizzerias in St-Jean de Monts. The pizza dough is fine and crispy, generous garnish, fresh and quality ingredients (fresh cap, dried tomatoes, and true burrata served whole, though too cold). Salads also well garnished with real ingredients worked (no lettuce abuse or other green leaves). Taste-rich Burgers with thick butcher steak. Nice service and rather fast despite the rush in summer. Consequence: the room can be noisy. Close terrace. Provide 20-25 euros per person. Recommendations (see Photos): Salade Grandioza, Italian Burger, summer pizza, beer Moretti. In the end, a restaurant that deserves multiple visits. 15/20"

"First observations: Gorgeous old building with some open air and conservatory style additions. Friendly, attentive service. Fairly small, but varied menu. For our lunch we were offered the special starter of sardines and their wine of the day. We went for the wine, a lovely...white Burgundy, which perfectly complimented my starter of home smoke salmon salad. Mrs Express went for the Foie Gras. Both were excellent with a great small salad, with assorted beets and micro herbs on the side, and the Foe Gras was also excellent. 5 stars each. My main of monkfish wrapped in bacon was very good, nice balance of fresh and salty with a nice tower of roasted summer veg and a lovely champagne sauce. But the fried risotto 'squares ' didn 't taste of much other than fried breadcrumbs and were a disappointment. 4 stars. Mrs E 's beef fillet was superb though. Beautifully flavoured beef, amazing beef jus, lovely baby roast potatoes and a generous smeer of pureed root veg. An absolute triumph worth of a much more expensive restaurant. Deserts were very good; a perfectly 'tart ' ie not too sweet, lemon meringue 'pie ' with lemon sorbet was really tasty and the ice cream in a sugar bowl with cream, chocolate sauce and fruit also lovely. One small criticism was the bread served with the starters was stale, and not even a home baked roll that I would have expected in such a good restaurant. All in all, for a little over 100 EUR (we only had the bottle of wine to drink) and tap water, we both felt this a very fair price for the standard of food and setting."
