"We were looking for a good Italian restaurant and we were recommended Il Girasole.by some colleagues. We had some starters tomato based (melanzana alla patmiggiana and shrimps in you’ve tomato): the tomato was very acid so not cooked long enough and not seasoned. The melanzana alla prmisggiana, could not been alla parmigiana as there was no test of or is a cheese. More likely a restless cheese. The pizza base were hard and dry. The 4 formaggi pizza had strange cheeses and not the one stated in the menu. The marinara pizza was very salty probably the cheap tuna. Marinara pizza in served with fish. Marinara pizza is made of pizza base, tomato sauce, oregano, olive oil and basil leaves. Never heard of marinara pizza with fish. I doubt the owner or chef are Italian or have Italian origins. I do. 25 April Italian liberation from the German in 1943. No flags in the restaurant to celebrate that important day for the freedom of Italy and democracy. Domino pizza (a chain of resta) is better quality."

Welcoming team, when we went it was very quiet. But foo was great i would say the portions are massive so would definitely share next time we go. You can takeaway any left overs away with you which is good. Fairly priced. Would love to see iton a busy evening.

we had a fabulous meal here. I had the guts and my husband had the laugh we both enjoyed. it has a beautiful and lively feeling and all staff are friendly and attentive. the menu would be for a wide selection of flavors. I'm sure there's something for the whole family. I would recommend that they try.

The reviews certainly weren't wrong. We had a lovely welcome, fantastic service and gorgeous food, all washed down with our Italian favourite Prosecco! We went for starters (Tiger Prawns, Mushroom with ground pork), mains (Sea Bass, pork medallions) and shared a gorgeous sweet. We really cannot rate the food here highly enough. We are on holiday here but will be going back before the end of the week with our two daughters. Please support this fabulous establishment St Neots don't risk losing it!

Just wonderful we made reservations last minute and they were able to squeeze us in risky chance on a Saturday night. We were greeted at the door and had our rainy coats hung for us talk about customer service! Excellent Next we ordered off the menu a Salad with Shrimp and Lobster, Chicken with tomatoes and cheese, eggplant parmigiana starter and my salad was the pear, bleu cheese, pecan and greens salad topped it off with a wonderful glass of Valpolicelli and wa...la : Next visit it will be a pizza they looked amazing as they went by and we were very close to the prep area that smelled glorious. If you are in St. Neots and craving a little Italian molto bene!

"Re opened, refurbished and back with a bang! A classic thatched country pub which has been lovingly and sympathetically restored to more than its former glory, with new owners and new management. It now features a wonderful and sizeable pub garden with stunning views over the Cambridgeshire countryside with the quaint addition of Highland Cows who seem to enjoy watching the customers! Having been for drinks and food now on a couple of occasions, the menu is sophisticated, tasty with plenty of variety. If you're enjoying a drink in the garden, for nibbles, I highly recommend the cheese fritters they compliment a cool glass of Prosecco perfectly. There is an extensive wine list and a selection of cocktails on offer. Inside the pub, it's all olde world charm but with a modern twist and as much I love the warm weather, I almost can't wait to see a roaring fire in the two fireplaces! The staff are friendly and welcoming it's the sort of pub I'd be happy to go into on my own for a light lunch or just a drink. I can't wait to try their Sunday lunch which I've heard good things about already from those who have been! Considering it's a whole new team of people, the service understandably was a little bit slow as they were learning the ropes. However, on my last visit, I was impressed by how much slicker it was they're obviously fast learners. Can't wait to go back and support this quality pub/restaurant."
