"I have been to Samsara a number of times and always been happy with my food and service. I visited this week which was the first time in a year and could see the changes in decor, very nice. The service was good as you would be expect with only a few customers. The food was average, my starter very disappointing. The bill came and we were overcharged by £30, when brought to the staffs attention it was corrected but with no real apology. Sadly to say we won't be returning or recommending this restaurant anymore. Not sure if management has changed, if it has its not for the better."

Had a lovely birthday meal with our son. Food was great, back if not better than it used to be. Will definitely be back soon!

We really like Samsara and it’s one of our favourite restaurants. Attentive service and good value plus very good Indian food. View menu

Enjoyable evening, excellent food and service, however noise ecco`s within the eating hall and the chairs make awful noise when pulled in or out or moved, pads need to be fitted onto the feet of the chair legs to maybe prevent this grating noise.

I had been meaning try this restaurant for years so was pleased I finally got around to it. The food was good and it didn’t feel like a typical Indian restaurant which was positive. The service was a little slow which is my only real criticism. I will visit it again though. View menu

My wife and I started off with a surprisely lovely cocktail in the bar area followed by a really enjoyable and tasty meal. The only qualm a had was the quality of the chicken in my curry felt a bit dry and a little stringey, but this would not put me off going back again as it may of just been a one off and maybe a bit over cooked. The rest of the food was first class and the wine was delicious.

They were having some renovations at the time of our lunch and nobody informed us for them. At first, it was extremely noisy, then they closed the windows but they didn’t switch the air con on. Overall, it was an experience that wouldn’t get me back to the restaurant in a hurry. The care for customers is important and when it’s not to the point, it says a lot about the principles of the restaurant owners.

"I visited my elderly Mum today, she suggested going to the Derby Arms for a roast dinner as she'd eaten there recently with my sister. However they were fully booked, so I looked online and found Galu. The reviews were great and my Mum has only ever heard good things from friends and neighbours. So I called and booked for 12:45 Sunday 21st Jan 2024. We were both pleasantly surprised to see roast dinners on the menu ... Mum order lamb and I ordered beef part of their set menu. When the dinners arrived, you could see straight away that the lamb was Very Fatty (not even crispy) when my my tried eating it, it was both tough and chewy! As for the beef, this was cooked ok and edible, although I asked for the beef to be medium, but it was more well done. The waiter came over to ask if the meal was ok, I highlighted how the lamb was... the manager then came over and offered my Mum a slice of beef to compensate, bearing in mind she ordered lamb. Mum subsequently found that some of her roast potatoes were hard inside! I finished my meal, but could see Mum really didn't enjoy hers leaving a substantial amount on her plate, and having tried her lamb it really was inedible! We were then offered a full list of desserts rather than the set menu, having chocolate brownie and creme brûlée (both were gorgeous) When the bill arrived, I was hoping they would have somehow made amends, but alas no ... as Mum doesn't like to cause a fuss and it was her treat, I decided not to say anything, although the staff manager could tell we weren't happy. Having come from East Sussex for the day and regularly have great Sunday roasts in local pubs, I was hoping for something special in this restaurant, but sadly that wasn't the case. In fact it's probably one of the worst roast dinners I've had in a long time. I very much doubt we'll return ..."
