"We booked a table for a nice birthday family and friends lunch on a Sunday . A waitress came over to take out drinks order, we were waiting for two other people to join so she came back when they arrived and took there orders...too. Next thing we knew we had another person come over and take our food orders, possibly the manager but he was very off with us and spoke down to us like we had done something wrong , we put our orders in smiled and carried on enjoying our family get together . He then returned to our table with a face like the thunder and it seemed so hard for him to be pleasant to us . He informed us that the dishes we had ordered had sold out so we Decided ’ to see the menu and for him to come back in a few minutes . The Miserable faced man soon retuned to the table to re take our orders only to inform us we had somehow offended his waitress who was crying in the kitchen. We were all shocked at this point and had no idea how on earth a waitress could be offended by some indecisive pensioners trying to work out what they would like to eat as there second choice . He told us that we should leave after our first drinks . He said this in a very aggressive manner totally unprofessional and his actions and manners caused one of our party to become very upset . This is unacceptable and very unprofessional Especially if he was management , maybe he should loom for a job in another trade this is not the way to treat people who does he think he is !! We will never return to the Albion unless they have staff that know how to with the restaurant trade absolutely appalling behaviour !! Avoid this restaurant"

Very pleasant and attentive staff. The food was tasty and the choice of local beers was particularly impressive.

Delightful texmex restaurant, great atmosphere and delicious food. Service was friendly and prompt. I think the tortillas should have been bigger: too small for fajitas, and a bit more spice would have been more authentic, but these are small points.

Lovely pub, have been there a few times and always enjoyed my meals. This time it wasn’t good at all. A starter of six calamari rings where the batter was barely cooked and fell off as soon as you picked it up, followed by gristly steak fajitas with no flavour or spice. We mentioned it to the staff and got a ‘sorry about that’. Just a bit disappointing for a rare night out with the hubby!

We had a table for 5 on a Thursday evening, it was quite quiet, but that suited us as it can be quite loud when it's busy. Food was amazing, between us we had chicken veracruz, beef chilli pot, rack of ribs and chicken fajita's....It was all very tasty, and the chips are still pretty special ! Chilli pot was just the right heat for me, spicy but not too hot. Banoffee pie and bunuelos finished us off nicely ! Will definitely visit again soon.

Took an impromptu visit (called and managed to book a table for 20min later) to this delightful Mexican taverna and was blown away by the service, food and the whole experience. We took our extremely fussy 7yr old but even she are the wonderful Macaroni...cheese and garlic bread. The food was brought out efficiently and piping hot. All of it freshly cooked and testing absolutely beautiful. The service staff were friendly, helpful and attentive (without being pushy). Cannot rate this place highly enough.

We came here after a disappointing evening elsewhere and was so glad we did, we shared guacamole and nachos, which was good, though I’m almost sure they freeze their guacamole, however I had ribs and my partner had a burger, which he said was great,...the ribs were the best I’ve ever eaten, we had cocktails which were good too and their chocolate brownie is up there with one of the best I’ve ever had as well. Our waitress who had a bit of an accent going on was so lovely and and made our experience even better. We will definitely be returning to the Albion, there’s a reason you have to book to get a table here!

We are frequent visitors of the Albion and love the food. However, after waiting over an hour for our food to arrive last night (and feeling really hungry by this point I was really sad to discover that the Oumph! strips fajitas were really...bad : It was just dry, tough, tastless and almost impossible to digest. Really un pleasant. So much so, i left almost a full dish. When the waitress came to clear away, no mention was made as to had we enjoyed our dinner... she was off. It was incredibly busy last night, which is great to see so staff did not really have time to interact. But please bring back the Quorn, so much better!!

Four of us visited here for lunch midweek. A first visit for all of us after recommendations. A lovely setting on the edge of the creek and an atmospheric interior. The staff were welcoming, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The food... Yummy. We shared a starter...of goodies, including jalopenos, chicken wings courgette fritters, all very tasty. For mains two of us had chicken caesar salad which we thoroughly enjoyed. Another main was the spicy chilli burger, messy to eat but so delicious and the final main duck fajitas which were very tasty. Somehow we managed to share a dessert of Mexican doughnuts with salted caramel sauce and ice cream. It smelled divine and tasted wonderful. Possi...

on a table at the arrival. met with paper menus with the half of the selection missing (with biro crosses specified). when we finally ordered from the selection of the scant, we were informed that the dishes were also from the menu! could be an idea to have a few dips available for a busy Sunday lunch service. that was the end of the gauge, then we were told that our second choice was not available! we tried to have a sense of humor over the whole debacle, but when the manager turned rude and abrupt, that was the icing on the cake! we took our business elsewhere and had a pleasant experience in the anchor pub near. this place really went downhill. the personal was inexperienced with the mana...
