"I was expecting a clean, nice cosy cafe. But I was disappointed to find that it was really dirty, and not at all cosy or nice. The toys looked like they have never been cleaned m, most were broken and bits missing. Tables had crumbs left on and food underneath. To be honest I wanted to walk straight back out m, but didn’t want to be rude. There was a funny smell on the carpet area with the toys as well. I would understand if they were busy but I was there an hour and not once did any of them clean , and there was only two of us in there. They just say about chatting. I wouldn’t go back. It’s so dirty I had to clean me and my daughter. Your better off going to the council children centres for a pound. Always clean and lovely toddler time sessions with toys that are not broke or dirty."

Really good food, reasonable price, about as baby friendly as you get and a wide range of fascinating activities.

Visited with daughter and grandson for lunch. Staff were friendly. Covid measures in place. Food was tasty and well presented. Cakes were fab. Definitely worth a visit. Kiddies play area a great idea.

Hired the room upstairs. Place is in desperate need of care. Dirty, smelly, with exposed electrical wiring around the corner in the room. They use this place for kids parties, but there's going to be an accident.

Called in for breakfast with my wife and it was lovely. We had a full English and a smashed avocado with poached egg and bacon lardons. We both cleared our plates, every item was cooked excellently. Also, the coffee was superb. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, they have lots of other community groups as well but worth visiting just for the food and drinks! View menu

Food was good, if a little slow therefore not hot on arriving, but the whole place needs a good clean as it's generally grubby. The sink in the toilet was filthy, dirty crockery and cutlery was stacked up on tables and behind the area where hot drinks and cake are prepared, and waitress didn't wash her hands once during the time we were there. Such a shame cause I've heard good reviews.

This little cafe is just wonderful. We don’t have children (it is a lovely environment for families) but have been so well looked after by the staff and owners after they heard about our family bereavement, that we wouldn’t dream of going elsewhere. We have mainly eaten their breakfasts, which have been all very well cooked with really good ingredients. However they also make fabulous cakes, we asked them to provide the cakes for our family funeral and everyone commented on how yummy they were. They also serve excellent coffee. The Nest really does demonstrate what it is to be a social enterprise, putting the community in centre stage, and I congratulate them! Thank you!

Met a friend for lunch here as they have children. Cafe not particularly clean (tables not wiped down properly, bits of food under most of them), which may have been understandable if the staff were rushed off their feet and it was busy, but it wasn't and they seemed to spend more time chatting to customers at tables or playing on phones than doing any real work. The drink I had was fine (it came in a can) and I could have made a better sandwich in the house, the quality of the ingredients was not exactly in line with the price charged. There is far better quality eateries on the Fell that are also family friendly and don't overcharge under the premise of being a social enterprise. I won't b... View menu

I nipped into the Nest on Friday morning with my little girl. I had the avocado on toast (vegan) and she had the oreo cake (also vegan). As simple as avocado on toast is, lots of places skimp on it and can be very uninspiring. But not this one, the avocado on toast was amazing! Chunky artisan style toast, lovely creamy hummus, fresh avocado, zingy salsa with rocket on the side. Loved it! We live near by so pop in from time to time, mostly for cake and coffee and the Nest never have let me down yet. There is always a scrummy vegan treat and the Oreo cake was no exception. Choices are fab considering this is not a dedicated vegi or vegan place. Atmosphere is always lovely. A true safe haven fo...

I hired the Nest for my son 's birthday party at the end of April. Firstly the room wasn 't the cleanest. We requested 4 high chairs which weren 't left out. We had an external company come and entertain the 8 children at the party. Afterwards they cleaned up. Once everyone left I also brushed the floor and stacked the chairs. Therefore was rather surprised when I got a call from the owner kicking off regarding how 'disgusting ' the floor had been left! Never in my life have I been spoke to so rudely. Upon asking, the owner hadn 't even checked the room. I asked her too, knowing it wasn 't in a mess and asked her to call me back... Been a week, no apology, no deposit returned, hasn 't answer...
