"I went to the Bold Forester with friends for a celebratory meal last night. I would say in the whole the food and service were good but my issue was that the fajitas came with small portions of the bottled guacamole, sour cream and salsa which are very tasteless. For the price we were charged (I think it was approx £17) they should serve fresh sauces with the food. The ocean platter starter was very good. We were also overcharged for a drink, which took some explaining as to how we did not receive it before it was removed from the bill. It was also a shame that the pub emptied out so early (maybe because it was mainly elderly diners) and we were the only table left after 9pm. I don't think I'd choose to go there again."

Have been a number of times and really enjoyed it, unfortunately last time we went had the ploughmans and was really disappointed, the slice of ham was so small it was as if they had 1/4 a slice and given me that, and the small amount of salad was as well so disappointing, won’t return

We visited for an early dinner in the beer garden with our dog and our 3 year old, having been many times before. Our little boy loved playing in the garden, the food was hot and tasty, the beer was good, the service was friendly, and we were made to feel welcome and relaxed. What's not to like. This is the kind of pub we need in our lives right now.

Went with friends and my husband for lunch. Everything was excellent. We all had something different and it all arrived to our table at the same time, well presented and piping hot. The chips were lovely, crispy, but not over cooked. My husband really enjoyed his fish curry, hake and prawns. The slow cooked brisket was extremely tender, all in all an excellent lunch out. I have eaten at the Bold Forester many times and always found the food excellent. No complains about the food today. However l felt that it was quite chaotic today. Firstly l had booked the table but they had no record of the booking. I have always ordered my drinks at the same bar where l book in and order my food. However, today after waiting to book in and order my food l was asked to go and wait at the other bar where there was another big queue to get my drinks. Disappointing!!

The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, so we expected a bit of a delay. We were shown to our seats by a lovely polite young lady. The service we received was excellent, considering how busy it. She took our order, thẹn arrived with our drinks quite quickly. Not long after our food arrived. The food was delicious and hot, the lamb we ordered was so lean no fat. It was beautiful, we had a good selection of vegetables too. The service was faultless. The food was outstanding, cannot recommend this pub any higher. Really good.
